Facebook Music - Whats Next?

According to our sources Facebook was searching for an individual to conduct their music services. But the latest news is that after the launch of MySpace Music in the previous month the competition goes on as Facebook is also going to start music online as stated by Mark Zuckerberg.

For a start, Facebook is looking for a music streaming services provider like Imeem, iLike, Lala, Rhapsody etc. As mentioned above they have planned to work with an outside service provider that already has all the licensing required for it along with technology required on streaming services to be integrated comprehensively with Facebook. Among the four possible Facebook Music partners we have analyzed the streaming features each partner is offering and dealing with the labels to see which one Facebook is most likely to partner with for its almost certainly forthcoming music service.

They are keeping all options in consideration and are in contact with prominent major record companies for this new plan. Online music fans are wondering what this new service could possibly look like. Facebook is not probably looking to clone the MySpace music services they are trying to bring something new with this service.

These companies haven't responded yet on the record in time for publication.

Keeping in view the upcoming feature in Facebook, Facebookster has already started working on Music Applications. There are several live Music Applications for music lovers you can find there. Most popular music applications by us are 'My Record Label' and 'Mix Tape Monster'. Facebook Ads For Chiropractic Marketing

In the last year, there's been massive amount of buzz about how Facebook basically gave Google a swift kick in the face with the introduction, and now hugely popular, Facebook Ads. If you are not aware, there's a big fight going on between the #1 most visited site on the planet (Google) and the #2 most visited site mentioned above. According to Compete.com, comparing the unique monthly visitors for this last month, they are literally neck and neck. This has major implications for chiropractors looking to implement a chiropractic marketing campaign utilizing social media.

Did you know that now Facebook boasts well over 400 million active users now? Did you also know those users spend an average of 20-50 minutes on this massive powerhouse? That is incredible considering the average internet user spends less than ten seconds on a website at any give time! Never has their been an easier medium for chiropractors to use Facebook chiropractic marketing to get new patients and brand themselves as local experts that the community is able to know, like and trust.

To throw-in a morsel of controversy, Google deleted about 15,000 AdWords accounts in the last few months because, well, they could. Now, there were also a few other reasons why the accounts were canned. However, more than anything, this is a perfect example of Google waiving it's big stick of power over the little guy.

As far as chiropractic marketing is concerned, I don't recommend having your traffic coming from only one source. For the longest time, all the "gurus" have been talking about is Google, Google, Google! Why are they shoving this down the throat of many? Well, because it feeds most people's ego when business get on the first page for any particular keyword. It's also easy to proclaim yourself and expert once that has been accomplished and the average newbie online doesn't really know any better.

It's never a good idea to fall into the trap of keeping all of your eggs in the Google basket and focusing on them solely for your chiropractic website traffic. Are getting 1st page Google rankings nice to see? Yes, but many times it's only a superficial "I'm better than you" thing that gives you tunnel vision so you overlook the other vast sources of traffic online. In fact, many of the online elite that have been making the most money from the internet fired Google a long time ago!

Facebook Ads for Chiropractic Marketing

In 2010 and beyond Facebook has the potential to get chiropractors tons of patients and make them truckloads of money with their easy-to-use, cheap promotion medium. Chiropractic marketing with Facebook Ads, in many instances, can be about 75% less expensive than what you would traditionally pay for on a regular Google AdWords cost-per-click basis! I've taken advantage of this in the last year for my practice and affiliate marketing endeavors.

Oh yeah, did I mention the traffic could be just as targeted, too? You can selectively target your chiropractic Facebook Ad to local cities around your area, you can set different age criteria, and you can even target potential new patients by key-word phrase. This is very good news for marketers, as you can just literally turn the traffic on and off each and every day. There is no need to wait weeks or even months for SEO to kick-in.

Here's a quick tip you'll want to utilize in your Facebook chiropractic marketing campaign. Since the ads on this network are a hybrid of image and text, you'll want to definitely test out different images that are going to make others click them. I would recommend you strive for at least a 5% click-through-rate. Don't worry, Facebook will track those stats for you so you can see. Have an image of you with a big smile, as this will make you appear friendly and approachable online.

To set the chiropractic Facebook Ad up, you'll want to scroll all the way down to the bottom once you're logged-in, then click the "advertising" text at the bottom of the page. This will bring you to a new screen that will give you a few different options, one of them being to set-up an ad to promote either your Facebook Fan Page or your website.

Even for the technically challenged, this process is very simple. The sooner you strategically implement Facebook Ads in your chiropractic marketing arsenal, the more highly targeted website traffic and new patients you'll have coming through your door. Facebook Tips - Are You Making Any of These 3 Deadly Social Marketing Mistakes on Facebook?

Facebook is a great Social Marketing tool to use to build your connections and your brand. At the same time, I see so many beginners and even veterans making the same mistakes that sabotage their marketing on Facebook.

Let's take a closer look at the top 3 biggest mistakes and what to do instead.

Top 3 Facebook Mistakes

1. Market all the time - Why do people do this? In a social setting, would you walk in carrying a giant billboard? Can you imagine what the reaction would be?

Yet it happens all the time. Someone sets up a new Facebook account and begins to flash their marketing messages all over the place. This is the quickest way to get ignored.

What to do instead - Follow the 80/20 rule of Social Marketing - 80% conversation & relationship building and 20% marketing. Share the parts of your life you are willing to share. Respond to what other people share. Help out when you can by answering questions and referring to any resources you know about that could help. Sometimes these can be your resources. Now you are able to market while being social. Which is the point.

2. No Regular Updates - Another big mistake I see is failure to be involved and update regularly. It only takes a few moments to update your status. And by update your status I do not mean your latest adventures in Mafia Wars or what you have added to your Aquarium or Farmville. This does not help your marketing and just makes you look like someone with too much time on their hands.

What to do instead - Follow my LIFE model of Social Marketing. You can update with Links, Information, Fun, and Events. Links can be information you have found or information about you. Information can be tips and tools about your niche. Fun can be sharing your life with your followers, to the extent with which you are comfortable. Events can be events you are attending or events you are holding.

3. No Fan Page - Lots of people try to have both their friendship world and their marketing world on the same page. I admit I made this mistake when I first started out. It gets confusing for your followers and for you. At the time of this writing, I'm in the process of moving my business followers to my Fan Pages and using my Facebook Profile for my longtime and new friends.

What to do instead - Create a Facebook Fan Page. Some of the advantages are:

1) Your updates are indexed by Google which helps you build your online visibility.

2) On your Profile Page you are limited to only 5000 followers. On your Facebook Fan Page there is no limit to the number of Fans you can have.

3) You are allowed to treat your Facebook Fan Page as a marketing tool, inviting followers/fans to sales pages and opt in pages.

Stopping Unwanted Communications in Facebook

In the space of five short years, the social networking phenomenon called Facebook has taken the Internet by storm. It seems like everyone has a Facebook page. While there is no doubt that it allows people to communicate and collaborate more efficiently than ever before, there's also a downside.

Facebook has a number of security and privacy challenges associated with it. The problem of receiving unwanted communications from somebody is a very common one. It's especially tough when that person is someone you know. However, at least from a technical standpoint, these problems are manageable. Facebook and other interested parties have done a good job of publishing information that will make your Facebook experience more secure and more private.

There is one basic principle to keep in mind - nobody can communicate with you on Facebook unless you allow the communication. This is managed through your friends lists, your block list and your privacy options. You can allow everyone, no one, friends only or friends of friends to access all or parts of your page. The default setting for many Facebook functions is to allow everyone. That's one of the associated challenges I mentioned earlier. If you tighten up permissions, if you don't list someone as a friend or if you block them, they can't keep sending stuff.

It's important to understand that no security scheme is airtight. There are a couple of ways that someone might be able to sneak through. They could attempt to send you a message using a friend's email account and posing as them. They might invent a new person with a new e-mail account and send you a friend request. However, both scenarios are easily detected and fixed.

Someone could be communicating as a friend of a friend, so they might not show up on your own friends list. However, you can tighten the security settings and block "friends of friends" to fix that scenario.

Some Facebook users have so many friends that they can't keep track of them all. In fact, there are competitions for bragging rights as to who can accumulate the most friends. If one of them is the source of a problem, it can be difficult to root it out.

Effective Facebook security necessitates managing your friends lists. Choose your friends carefully, don't "friend" someone you don't know and periodically do some house cleaning of your lists. It takes some work but that's the nature of security. There's no such thing as "set and forget." Remember that today's friend can be tomorrow's harasser.

Lastly, someone may discover or guess your password, meaning they can login as the owner of the Facebook account and do anything they want, including changing all the security settings. The only defense against this is to have a strong password and keep it to yourself. If you have any reason to suspect password problems, change your password immediately. There's no defense against a compromised password.

In security, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Choose your friends carefully, limit the personal information you publish and keep your password strong and safe. These simple proactive measures will go a long way to enhance the safety and effectiveness of Facebook.

Picking Up Women on Facebook - How To Do It

Social networking is a powerful tool that you can use in many ways. Starting romantic relationships has been a big plus with using social networking sites. Facebook is one of the best sites where romantic relationships have flourished. Picking up women on Facebook is possible, but you have to go about it the right way.

Picking up women on Facebook:

Here's how you do it:

1. Study the profile. There's the obvious things to look for when picking up women on Facebook, like is she single and what is she "looking for", as in networking, making friends, relationship. If she is single and looking for a relationship this is a green flag. Networking or friendship is also good as many women don't want to announce that they are looking online for something romantic. Beyond the obvious, what are her interests, what is she into? Look for things you have in common with this person. This will come into play for number 3.

2. Don't "poke", "stalk", or "like" every entry she makes. This is a common mistake guys make. Poking should be done with people you know fairly well, not women whom you may not know well. It can easily creep them out. Same with stalking them by commenting on all their photos or entries. Again too creepy. Some guys think that if they "like" every post that the woman makes then this will subtly make them noticeable, but really it's overkill. Only "like" a post here and there. An occasional "like" here and there is actually a good move as it will bring you into the light, but not in a stalking, overkill fashion.

3. Message her and make it GOOD. Here's what NOT to say when sending a message - "hey wassup?" First of all you want to spell correctly, and second you want your first contact to be the best, providing some sort of value to the woman so she has incentive to respond with at least a thank you. Remember studying the profile and finding common interests? Use these interests in your first message. An example of this is if you both have common music interests, a good first message could be pointing this out while providing a link to a YouTube video or rare concert performance, followed with a question about the band, "have you heard their third album?" "Do you know if they have plans for a tour?" "What other bands do you recommend which sound similar to ----". All these questions will force a response, and now you have a conversation going! And who knows, after continued dialogue that common band of yours could come to town and you could ask her out to the concert.

How Do I Find a Friend on Facebook?

Social networking sites have become extremely popular in recent years. This phenomenon isn't limited to any one age group either: people from all walks of life, at all stages of life, are discovering this convenient and easy way to keep in touch with family and friends. These sites are also patronized because they allow people to create profiles, write blogs, share videos, and much more. In turn, members can view their friends' profiles also.

One of the major social networking sites is Facebook. Again, you can leave messages for anyone you want, but to view a profile, you need to be a member. This is fast and free, and it will allow you to catch up with friends much more easily.

Privacy is always an issue when you go on social networking sites. If you meet new people, be cautious about giving out your personal information. If you do happen to exchange phone numbers, always remember to do a quick phone number lookup to make sure they are who they claim to be. It is worth the few minutes it takes to help ensure your safety.

Facebook Marketing - How to Use Facebook Effectively to Dominate Your MLM Company

Facebook is by far the greatest social media site and is continuing to grow like wild-fire. Facebook is not just another social media site, it is a great phenomenon which is shifting the way we communicate. Facebook is the number two most visited site on the planet. How To Add Funny Videos To Your MySpace, Facebook Page Or Blog

You may have noticed many social networking users have integrated funny video content into their profiles to provide a more entertaining experience for people in their friends list. This is a short tutorial to show how you too can add some funny videos to your MySpace, Facebook profile or blog.

You may think that you need your own web space to host the funny videos that you would like to share with your friends. This is not the case; many of the funny video websites on the internet allow you to play their videos from your own webpage while the video is hosted on their server. All you need to do is find your favourite funny video on a website such as YouTube and look for a section that says 'Embed'.

To embed the funny video into your MySpace profile you will need to log into your account and edit your profile. You will then need to choose the section where you want the funny video to appear and copy and paste the code from the funny video site in to your MySpace profile. Save your profile and then reload the page in your browser and the funny video should appear embedded on your profile.

To embed a funny video into your Facebook profile you will need to install a video player application such as YouTube Video Box. You can find it in the application section of Facebook with a few other video applications. Once you have installed YouTube Video Box it will ask you to post a video. Instead of pasting the embed code from the funny video on YouTube you will need to enter the video URL from your web browsers address bar into the textbox and click "Save".

You could also upload your own funny video to a video site like YouTube and then embed the video onto your website without using up valuable web space on your own server.

Facebook Applications For Your Real Estate Business

Any real estate agent serious about his work should utilize social media to its maximum potential. If you don't at least have a Facebook profile linked to a page for your agency, you should register as soon as possible to take advantage of the growing popularity of this site. That you can customize your profile to showcase your listings and services is especially helpful as friends and colleagues connected to you can be updated regularly.

One advantage to using Facebook to promote your home listings is that the social service is free: you need only to register and provide what information you choose to give. Developing Facebook Applications

I've worked on several Facebook Applications since the beginning of the year and although none of them have been massively successful hits, I've learned a couple of things about developing Facebook Applications. Hopefully, I can share some of what I've learned and experienced. I'm not going to talk much about the technical development process but instead, more of the marketing and business aspects. I'm also going to try to not make broad assumptive conclusions based on my experiences but instead, share my experiences and give conclusions that I'm pretty confident in. Some of us are making applications because we want to share our great ideas with the world but, all of us would like to monetize our ideas--don't lie, you know you do. :)

Facebook launched their application platform in the middle of 2007 and it has done very well since. Thousands of people have made applications for it and some businesses have sprouted from it. I was generally cautious of the Facebook Platform and did not look into it until mid-January of 2008. As of today, I have four active Facebook Applications that were developed solely by me and one other that I worked on. My applications aren't drawing any significant number of daily active users--I don't even have an application that has 1000 installs yet. The total combined user base of all my applications probably falls in around 1500 - 2000 installs. It isn't impressive but, keep reading.

I haven't put much polish in my applications simply due to the fact that I don't know what the return on these applications are. My first app is just a Flash remake of Pong: Old School Tennis. There is no social or viral features to that application, I was just dipping my toes in the water. That application has around 200 installs which surprises me every day due to its utter lack of features but, I guess Pong is just a fun distraction. My second go at the platform delivered me my, arguably, most successful application so far: My Bookshelf. My Bookshelf still needs a lot of polish and feature additions. My vision for it was a lot more grand than what it currently is. The biggest difference between other applications like it is the shelf display that was done in Flash so it has a nice scrolling view. I've spent the most time developing My Bookshelf and it produces the most money in advertising revenue--it accounts for about 80% - 90% of my daily Facebook revenue through Social Media.

My fastest growing and most complete Facebook Application is FlipCup Challenge based on the drinking game of the same name--minus "Challenge". It has the social features that should be expected in a Facebook game like high scores amongst your friends, global high scores, challenges--hence the name--and the ability to invite your friends. FlipCup Challenge is growing at a faster rate than My Bookshelf but has not produced nearly as much revenue. While My Bookshelf suffers from a very poor retention rate--I believe due to its lack of polish--FlipCup does a very good job keeping users who have installed it. This leads me to believe that a certain level of polish is indeed necessary even though games like Zombies were pretty rudimentry and managed to attract millions of installs. The landscape for Facebook Applications is changing and developers are going to have to make more sophisticated applications in order to compete as the platform grows and matures.

The last of my personal applications is Sam's Solitaire. It is a simple solitaire game based solely on Windows's version of solitaire that everyone who runs Windows will have. It took me about a week to make it, working just a couple hours a day--I happen to have a full-time job as well. This application is quite generic except for the fact that I made it for a girl who plays quite a bit of solitaire on her phone--that must be a first, Facebook Application as a gift. So this application has a differentiating personality and a basic social feature that tells you how fast your friends have finished a game of Sam's Solitaire. None of my applications have been active for more than 6 months with Sam's Solitaire being active for less than two weeks.

The last application that I will talk about is Sheep Tycoon. It has the production polish because we developed it as professionals at Tiny Mantis Entertainment--an independent game company. This Facebook edition of Sheep Tycoon is a simplified version of a bigger game that we have been trying to find the funds to produce. The game on Facebook is relatively simple. The goal is to get the highest score possible by milking sheep and then turning the milk into butter, cheese, or leave it as is and bring it to one of the two waiting donkey's to be delivered to town--I happen to hold the second highest score as of this writing. Although Sheep Tycoon is a very pretty game, it doesn't have the same polish in social features. It is also a lot more original than any of the applications that I have made so it is difficult to gauge if such a game would appeal to the Facebook audience.

I've searched the web for Facebook marketing techniques and I have not found any definitive information. It appears to me that everyone is still trying to figure out how to tap the potential of the Facebook Platform. One technique that I've written about, viral loops, is something that I believe can be applied to Facebook. Some apps already have used this technique without even knowing it and some appear to be deliberately doing it but in uncreative and possibly annoying ways.

The main point that I've come away with in the last six months working with the Facebook Platform to develop viable business models is that an application's ability to generate revenue has more to do with how long a user stays in your application than it does with how many total installs or daily active users you have. Obviously, if there are a lot of installs and a lot of daily active users, there will be a certain amount of revenue that can be garnered from it but, that is just a law of numbers. To maximize the revenue potential of each user is to keep them in the application. Applications also need to have a certain level of polish to them or it will just be lost in the mix. The amount of applications on Facebook is growing everyday so having a unique selling point will eventually become crucial.

I have application ideas sitting in my Developer application--some of which are half finished apps. Some of them will probably never see the light of day either due to its complexity--my procrastination--or just better ideas skipping in line. We have a big application designed for Facebook at Tiny Mantis that we are trying to get funding for. We believe that this application will expand the definition of "social games"--which is a hot sector in the application market. I'm sure I am a little biased--I had a hand in its inception--but, if you are looking to fund social games, let us know.

Revenue being generated from advertising is probably not the best route for a truly sustainable or highly profitable model. I believe micro-transactions is way to go and Facebook is supposed to be working on a system for that. There is a great deal of potential in the Facebook Platform and I will continue to find ways to unlock it--along with the thousands of other developers, venture capitalists, and business people. Hopefully, I've provided some insights through my experiences. Maybe I'll have some more in the next six months. Until then, see you on Facebook.
