How Can I Find Someone's Phone Number On Facebook

Facebook is a fun and convenient online social network that enables family members, as well as old and new friends to keep in touch with one another. Facebook is designed to enable users to search for people they know and contact them. This particular social network is extremely popular and can be an ideal way to find long lost friends and their current contact information, which may include their phone number.

If you would like to discover if you can find the phone number of your friend, relative, or anyone else you may want to contact on facebook, the following is a step by step process on how you can find out the information you are looking for:

Step 1 - Access the website at facebook.com

Step 2 - Enter the first and last name of the person you are looking for in the "Search by name" option, or choose the "more search options" link located directly below the search box. If you choose to search with different options, you can search by high school, college, or company name. These search methods may come in handy if you cannot remember the last name or the first name of the person you are searching for.

Step 3 - Once you find the individual you are searching for, you will need to either sign in to facebook if you already have an account, or you will be required to create an account for free. This can be done easily by following the instructions and entering in the necessary information requested on the sign up page. If you are not a member you cannot access a facebook user's information.

Step 4 - When you are signed in, you will then be required to select the "Add to Friends" option associated with the friend, relative, etc. you wish to get in touch with. Once selected, the person will be notified of your request to add them to your "friends" on facebook. The facebook user then has the option to accept, decline or ignore the request.

Step 5 - If the person accepts the request you will be notified via email and will then be able to access their profile. Once you can see their profile, you will be able to view any of the information the person has included about themselves. Personal details will vary and may include favorite hobbies, as well as contact information (I.E. address and phone number).

You should know that the chances are slim that you will be able to find a person's phone number on facebook, as many people are wary of posting their personal information on public internet sites. Nevertheless, this is an excellent way to establish contact with a long lost friend or relative. Furthermore, don't forget that if all you have is a phone number to search with, you can find out who owns a phone number here.

Free Advice To Anybody Wishing To Start Another Facebook

This is the kind of business people dream and fantasise about. Facebook was launched in February 2004. In November 2007 it was reported that Microsoft bought a 1.6% share of the company for $240 million. You can do the sums to check out how much the market seems to think Facebook is worth now, in just under four years.

So you think you might want to do something similar. There is even software available, called Ning, that can get you started. You won't need to employ a galaxy of developers to set it up, which would mean that you wouldn't need to go cap in hand and find some venture capital. But if you did want your own developers and the whole story to go with it, about $50 million would do nicely.

Of course by now there are hundreds of competitors out there. But that's no problem. With the masses of people on the internet and the numbers increasing rapidly, there will be some interest group out there in cyberspace who could be served by setting up an online community. Do remember that clever thinking by Chris Anderson on The Long Tail theory.

A quick think, and here's one for you, free to use. A social network site that caters to people who love dressing up as pirates and speaking the pirate lingo. This group would like to live pirate lives for more than just one day a year, on international Talk Like a Pirate day September 19. You are sure to think of many yourself.

By now you will be impatiently tapping your fingers on the desk. Where is this free advice? So here it is, and you can thank me later, once you have made your mega millions. Once your social network site is up and it has a few thousand members, open it up to outside developers.

Is that it, I can hear the chorus. This hardly sounds like a magic formula. But it is. The business giants of this century, present and future, will be the ones who open up their business to outside participants. It really makes sense, and in any case why do it all yourself when there are so many willing participants out there?

For some light hearted fun, watch the video on YouTube where you will find Steve Ballmer making that precise point. He just went a bit overboard! Ballmer is CEO of Microsoft and his little dance and scream routine was all about celebrating developers.

External developers in this context are individuals or companies who develop products to run with, or enhance, ones core products. Developers do this at risk to themselves, investing their resources into projects which they hope will be popular with the same clients that, as an example, Microsoft's products serve.

Facebook has done just that by launching an API this year. It certainly made me sit up and think that social networking could be around much longer than I originally had thought. The purpose of social networking had evaded me. After all I have been a Facebook member since the beginning of the year and have, so far, accumulated all of 17 friends, of which only one is a proper friend! Hardly a peak user.

In techie terms an API, the acronym stands for application programming interface, is a source code interface. For us amateurs it means that it provides the parameter to allow other developers to write little applications that can run on the mother ship, so to speak. As an example, a developer has written a software application that allows one Facebook user to play scrabble with another Facebook member. This application plugs onto Facebook's software.

This kind of participation creates, in the case of Facebook, a bigger buzz, more fun things to do, greater interactivity with your friends, in other words a whole new fun time to be had. And all this at no major development cost to Facebook, that is at no more cost than they have had to spend to develop their own bits and pieces.

Microsoft for instance does the same in providing the API for developers to write their software to run on MS Windows. This means that companies such as Adobe will develop their Flash software to run on Vista. And this doesn't cost Microsoft anything. At the same time it adds immense value to the operating system.

This sounds so logical, one would think. However, have a look at some industries and instances where this is not happening. The mobile phone industry is particularly locked up to outsiders. This has meant that the development of the phone technology and services offered to users has crept along very slowly.

With the huge number of users worldwide, the mobile phone market is certainly large enough to make it worthwhile to develop large number of additional products. But what is available? Nice little pouches, fancy earphones? Even Apple, who knows the value of external developers, has buttoned down its iPhone.

The music, film and broadcast industries are similarly insulating themselves from anybody who is encroaching on their turf. Jealously they protect their industries and their intellectual property. In this way it will surely contribute to their demise. Protecting what you have rather than encouraging people to develop for it, and in this way finding new ways to do business, will be a business killer in this society where the digital revolution has allowed the sharing of everything.

Watch the excellent TED talk by Larry Lessig, Stanford professor and foremost authority on copyright issues. While the entertainment industry tries to rein in the likes of Napster and YouTube, are they not missing the boat? Instead of seeing what the digital era can do to enhance their business they are trying to erect barriers.

So if you are considering setting up a social networking site, or in fact are considering any business venture, keep it open to everybody. Sure, some people will try and take you for a ride. But the benefit of having many brains and energies participate in your venture will far outweigh any little bits of theft perpetrated by the trolls out there.

Utilizing Facebook For Home Or Business

100 million people have joined Facebook since its inception and even if the growth of Facebook has slowed while newer social networking platforms have formed, it is still the choice for political, non-profit and entrepreneurial organizations that depend on social networking as part of their overall marketing strategy. With translation applications, your page can reach millions of users in your network or group all over the world.

But what if the places you need to reach, some valuable demographic, is in a place that does not have DSL or Cable? Satellite internet is available worldwide and in places where cable internet is not such as vessels at sea, in space and mobile land vehicles. Some portable satellite internet modems come with an integrated bluetooth transceiver and can double as a satellite phone.

Specialized satellite internet providers now offer high speed internet and VOIP for yachts and any sea going vessels. Naval groups on Facebook like the US Navy Healthcare and the Merchant Navy groups can stay connected from anywhere in the world when at sea.

Satellite keeps rural areas connected to the mainstream via the internet. For youths feeling isolated on farms and remote areas, Facebook provides a solution for rebellious but internet savvy teens that are safe at home while still having access to their social networking groups. Adults and youths alike can maintain and monitor their own specialized groups whether for business or pleasure.

Facebook has the most varied and widely used apps on the net. With over 250,000 new registrations per day and active users doubling every 6 months millions of internet entrepreneurs are using these apps in the Facebook pages and groups to increase their website online traffic and their sales revenue. In an instant you can find people on Facebook you already know which starts your list of friends. The demographics are better for businesses too as the members are 25 or older as opposed to the young membership on Myspace. There are many advanced apps that you can utilize for data collection and marketing opportunities. Forming groups provides a way to reach niche markets as groups have been formed covering just about everything.

The Advantages of Facebook

For those of you who don't already know, Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites online today. As each day goes by, more and more individuals are setting up a Facebook account in order to socialise with friends and meet or network with other people.

As far as social networking sites go, Facebook has become one of the biggest in the world. Its online community grows each and every day as many more people flock to the world of online social networking. Below you can find some of the advantages of Facebook.

Making Contacts is Easier

Unlike other social networking sites like Linkedin, where you really need to know someone before you contact them, Facebook allows you to send a message with your 'friend request'. This helps to create new contacts and make new friends online without too much trouble.

Easy Interactivity

With Facebook's respectful platform it is possible to become friends with pretty much anyone. Whether it be your colleagues, your superiors, friends of your friends or even just your friends. On top of this, it is possible to use Facebook to just say hello to someone that you haven't seen in a long time or someone you have never met.

Aesthetics

the blue and white theme of Facebook is very nice. It has a very tidy layout that is uncluttered, spacey and easy on the eye. This social networking site tends to have an addictive quality and you want to keep staring at your various pages for hours on end.

Vicarious Pleasure

one of the best parts of Facebook would have to be the newsfeed. This lets you keep tabs on everything that your friends are doing on the site. It is possible to read the messages being sent and view the applications that are being used by your friends. This allows you to keep in touch with what's happening and also makes sure that you are aware of the many applications available on Facebook. If someone uploads new pictures or change something they profile you will know immediately.

If one of your friends right on someone else's wall you'll be able to read the message in your newsfeed. This does not violate privacy as only public messages are available to be viewed by anyone. Private messages remain private.

Other Advantages

Facebook also has many other advantages. These advantages range from it being a great way to kill time, to finding long lost friends wherever they are in the world. Best of all Facebook is free to use for anyone and everyone. This is much better than some other social networking sites that charge a fee.

I would personally recommend setting up a Facebook profile and on top of this the online social networking site is still gaining popularity at a rapid rate, especially with younger people. There are approximately 10,000 new students who join Facebook every day.

Dominate Facebook Mafia Wars - Cheat Your Way to the Top Like a True Mobster

Mafia Wars is quickly becoming the most popular game on Facebook. Almost everyone with a Facebook account has played it at one time or another, even if they don't want to admit it. In fact, I bet a lot of you guys even have a grandma or grandpa that plays this game!

For those of you that are hardcore players, it doesn't feel good to spend hours and hours of your time each day playing this game, only to see your friends advancing twice as fast and in half the time. Stop wondering how they are doing this. It really isn't a secret. It's actually very simple, they're cheating!

The key to being successful at Mafia Wars is networking. The more people you have in your mob, the more powerful you are. To increase the size of your mob, you have to send invites to your friends. The more friends that you can convince to join your mob, the more powerful you will become. However, this can be a very tedious and very time consuming process, not to mention it can start to annoy your friends very quickly!

So what are the alternatives? I'll be honest with you, if you try to gain mobsters legitimately by just inviting your friends, you will never get anywhere. I know this may sound bad, but cheating is the only way you're going to get anywhere in this game. There are certain methods you can use to quickly increase the size of your mob automatically while you sleep.

Making Money Quick - Facebook Or Twitter - Social Networking War is on

Facebook started first and is much larger. Twitter started later but is growing faster.

Facebook allows lengthy communications. Twitter is restricted to 140 characters.

Facebook allows articles and photo albums and videos and surveys. Twitter allows a photo attachment.

On the surface, it would seem that Facebook is bigger and better. But, the truth is only that it is bigger. The very reason that it appears better is paradoxically why it is worse. Let me explain. Allowing long communications and photo albums and videos and survey and lots of other options is one of Facebook's difficulties. Firstly, there is the learning curve as to how to handle and organize all these options. Secondly, there is just way too much clutter in the world today and simplicity is Twitter's huge ace.

Twitter is growing faster than any website ever because of its disarming simplicity. Who would have ever known that brief 140-character snippets would be of such interest and would be such a refreshing change from lengthy communications offered by Facebook or email.

But the final clue as to which would win came with Facebook's Fan Pages and Twitter's brand new Lists. Facebook makes Fan Pages very hard to find and is not strongly encouraging its use. Actually Facebook perceives that it should only be used by big players like movie stars, famous singers, etc. Twitter is soon to unleash its Lists and is making it really easy to open Lists and invite people to join them and to find other Lists of interest, etc.

Twitter will win the Social Networking War over Facebook and the newest proof is how they each handled their latest offering: Fan Pages and Lists. I'm betting on Twitter.

Successful Business Uses For Facebook

Facebook is undoubtedly one of the major websites in the world today, with probably the highest number of registered users in the world presently. It is also one of the top five visited sites worldwide hourly, daily or whatever metric you want to use. This means that for those with businesses, there also exists the potential to reach this huge customer base by using Facebook to leverage your business.

An astute business person will not just use Facebook for personal purposes, but will also seek to get benefits to his/her business by using the strengths of Facebook to reach a target audience. Facebook tends to bring together people of related interests or location, and if you get people to patronize your business via Facebook, then there is an increased possibility of these same people providing free publicity for you by telling friends they know will be interested through Facebook, which could result in a viral type spread of your business.

The major ways to achieve a successful business use for Facebook involves three simple but major processes, the first involves profile management, and the second has to do with sharing your profile and connecting to others, and finally, use fan pages, groups and the network facilities to spread information about your business.

Managing your profile has to do with making sure your profile is completely and professionally filled out, to earn the trust of people who end up viewing the business's profile. You will also score points for using a business account for your business, rather than a personal account. This eliminates confusion. Preferably, your business account should not contain personal photos, rather professional looking pictures of you and/or the business should be the only available pictures.

Sharing your business profile and getting others to connect to your profile is the tricky and difficult part. You must have a Facebook URL, which is simply a username for your profile. This should be placed in your business cards, adverts and so on. You can also append this to emails you send out and newsletters, if you have any. Make sure you only paste information about your business on your wall, such as "Working on a new design involving green and black". Suggest friends to clients that are connected, based on research you've done on their interests. This helps build trust.

Finally, make certain that you use the group and fan pages available in Facebook. Fan pages are usually better for products and businesses that are already well known, whereas group pages are better for new and emerging brands. Post upcoming events and useful information regularly but not overly frequently, to keep your brand name available to potential clients regularly.

These tips will definitely assist you in a more enriching experience for your business with the power of social networking.

Outsourcing Business Tasks Using Facebook

When you think of Facebook, you think of one of the most talked about Internet marketing tools ever. If you're not thinking of it as a marketing tool then some tips on using it for your business are headed your way. Not only does Facebook have one of largest memberships of any website in the world, using the site is so easy that it can be cheaply outsourced to an overseas rep for daily use.

Sharing videos, images and events about your business to a global audience can create a flurry of prospects and interest in your services. Outsourcing can help build friends, create groups, network in real time, upload multimedia and increase brand awareness to over 300 million users. The big companies all have a Facebook presence to promote their brand to a worldwide audience. You need to make Facebook a part of your company's plan for Internet marketing and an outsourced rep can help you get set up. If you are already on Facebook, are you using it correctly for the largest amount of exposure? And how much are you paying for labor to keep it running properly?

Facebook is a powerful tool that you don't want to be without. Don't let the confusion of marketing on the Internet stop you from utilizing this free service. Internet savvy overseas reps can clear the confusion away and help grow your business online. For as little as $5.00 an hour you can have your own dedicated virtual assistant to do the tasks that your business may be lacking. When you get a chance, browse through Facebook and see just how much networking is going on. Search the name of a big company and see how they using the site to create brand awareness. Then imagine how your company would look having a Facebook page. And then be aware of just how cheap and easy it would be to use an outsourced rep to manage the account for you.

Take a second look at how outsourcing can not only save you money, but help grow your business on the Internet. This is your partner for the life of your company. Take your business to the next level of marketing and see your company become recession proof!

How to Surf Anonymously - MySpace, Youtube and Facebook

Surfing anonymously online has become a lot more vital to the security of computers then ever before. Social media networks like MySpace, Youtube and Facebook are filled with millions of visitors each and everyday and there are lots of intrusive people on those websites due to the huge amounts of traffic. If you don't use a proxy to remain anonymous while surfing then intruders will have access to all of your computers information and then can access it if they choose to. To prevent this, there are encrypted servers which you can access on the internet and allow you to surf the most popular social networks without giving away your details.

All the popular sites have proxies designed specifically for the site and allow the actual site doesn't approve of this it still is a safety measure many people will take when using the sites. MySpace, Facebook and Youtube all are amongst the most popular sites on the internet right now and there are tons of proxies on the internet allowing you to view these sites anonymously.

You can also use proxies to view these sites in case you've been banned from them on your computers IP address. Lots of people are falsely banned on these social sites because the traffic on them is huge and it's hard to keep tabs on whose being banned. If you get banned then you'll still be able to access the website by using a proxy such as a Youtube proxy, which will keep your computers IP hidden and anonymous. Make sure that you use the websites properly still but if you enjoy surfing these sites without worrying about your computers security then surfing anonymously is an excellent alternative.

Why You Should Use Facebook And Myspace For Online Dating

With millions and millions of users now joining social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace, it is not surprising that some of those users are using these social networks to meet and date others. The first question that probably comes to your mind is "Why would you use Facebook or Myspace to date?"

There is actually a lot of reasons why you should use these social networks! I will list just four of the top reasons that you should use Facebook or Myspace to meet others.

1. Time Commitment- As with other online dating sites, you can meet others on Facebook and Myspace while working around your daily activities and schedule. Not only can you work around your schedule but it takes very little time to communicate and get to know others over the internet. These two benefits makes social networks a very convenient and efficient way to meet members of the opposite sex.

2. Member Base- The user base of social networks are in the millions and are continuing to grow. This massive growth makes Facebook and Myspace the perfect place to meet other singles since the dating pool is so large.

3. Social Tools- The third reason why you should use social networks to meet others is the tools these networks make available. As social networks, Facebook and Myspace have tons of tools built into their systems for people to interact and these very same tools can be harnessed for communicating not only with friends but with singles.

4. First Impressions The last reason I would give for this dating trend is the information available on these networks. Facebook and Myspace both display user profiles which will allow you to not only see pictures of the person you are interested in, but also get an idea of their interests, hobbies, values, and other useful information that may help you to make a better match. These sites give you a much more informed first impression.

So are you a member of a social network? Are you Single? Then why aren't you using these social networks to meet members of the opposite sex? If you want more reasons, tips, and advice for meeting people using these social networks go check out http://www.datedemon.com To sign up or check out these social networking sites go to http://www.facebook.com or http://www.myspace.com

Facebook For Photographers

Photographers need to market effectively in order to succeed in this competitive environment. Effective marketing is what makes the difference between a photographer who is struggling to get by and one who has more work than he can do. One of the best ways to market is to use Facebook as a tool to reach your audience.

Facebook is a great medium for those searching for a way of reaching high school seniors for senior portraits or senior proms. A large segment of this population trust and rely on this mode of communication to get information from friends they trust.

A photographer can begin marketing on Facebook by giving away free portraits to seniors who can act as representatives. The photographer then needs to ask these representatives if they will add the photographer as one of his "Friends" on Facebook.

These representatives should get a free session and at least one free image that the photographer can tag to their Facebook account. When a picture is tagged to their account all of their friends are able to see the image. This results in excellent exposure for the photographer. The photographer's work is displayed in a way that is trusted by those who are being exposed to their work. When a photographer pays for traditional advertisement, the receiver of that marketing material will invariably think, consciously or not, "of course they are going to endorse this product - they are being paid to do so."

However when the image is exposed to them through their friend and their friend does not even mention that they think the photographer did a great job (which they often will anyways); the message carries a lot more trust. Their friend is not being paid to demonstrate the work - in fact they are paying for their photographs. This is the best possible or endorsement a marketing piece can have.

While marketing on Facebook is particularly practical for high school students (such a high percentage of them use Facebook on a daily basis), other groups such as new mothers can also be reached.

Marketing is a key to success in the photography industry, and Facebook is one of the most effective ways to advertise.

Facebook Fan Pages - Why Does Your Business Need One?

Today is the era of social media and in case you did not already know this you do now. Social media has revolutionized the internet marketing industry and more and more marketers are shifting to social media marketing. Companies are running campaigns on social networks to promote their business and website are being optimized for social media (S.M.O).

Facebook undoubtedly is the leader of all social networks with the largest user base in the world and thousands of apps. The platform is feature rich and provides companies with various social media tools which if used effectively not only bolster their image but also helps in increasing sales and revenue generation.

Facebook Fan Page Development:

Facebook Fan Page is one such feature provided by Facebook. Fan Pages are gaining more and more popularity due to the fact that there is no better way by which you can promote your services and interact with your fans/clients. Facebook Fan Page is a great tool via which you can keep your fans up to date with the latest happening and maintain a much more casual relation with them. With a Facebook Fan Page you are able to reach out to your customers/fans and get real time feedback on your services.

There are quite a few ways via which you can keep your fans involved and interested. Planning to launch a new product? Ask your fans what would they like to see in it? Offering new services? Ask your fans to give reviews on it! Hiring new employees? Ask your fans to welcome them! From posting pictures to posting videos and from starting discussions to giving away freebies, the possibilities are endless!

Another important yet not often looked upon fact is that a Fan Page helps in invoking brand awareness amongst the masses and also in establishing a strong online presence. Although not much emphasized on but the number of people joining your Fan Page also has an impact on your company repute.

Social Media is growing everyday and it is vital for businesses to make use of social networking tools in order to stay ahead of their competitors and challengers. Facebook Guru is a social networking application development organization and creates applications for Facebook, iPhone, Bebo and other social networks. Facebook - 9 Steps For Network Marketers to Get 100s of Leads

Facebook is the second largest online social network site, you could generate 50 - 100 free leads per week if you do it right. Facebook is aggressive on spammers (sending out unsolicited advertisement), so it's important you know the right way to make your presence.

First you want to start building your profile with a nice smiley photo and complete your profile.

"What are you doing?"

Update the "what are you doing" field every day, this keeps people looking at you profile. For example you might say something like:

"_______ is teaching people how to earn 5k per week"

"_______ is teaching networkers to generate 100 leads per day"

The important to remember when networking on Facebook is you must be consistent.

1. Adding Friends

The best way to add friends is to join groups you want to target. One way to find these groups is to search by topics like, "MLM" "Network Marketers"...etc.

Once you've join a group click members and start inviting people to join your page. Be careful, if you add too many people too fast you may get a warning. If this happens log off for 24 hrs. It's best to invite about 30- 50 per day

Optional: If you want to leave a personal message be sure to use the persons name and Do Not include a web address.

Insider Secret: Input the name of some of the "Biggies" in the industry, go to their page and add friends. These are the "Big Timers"

2. Groups

Join groups with 500 or more members, you can add as many as you like.

Tip: Join groups for other companies, even though they may not be interested in joining your primary, you will be creating a list of potential customers. Plus you never know if things may change for that person in the future, and you will then be in a position to help them.

3. Create a group

When creating a group it's recommended you use your own brand name. (Your unique company name and web personal capture page) It's critical to use key words in the description.

4. Inviting Friends to your group

You want to start inviting friends but no more than 50 per day. Send a personal message like "Hey there fellow networker, join our free training and see how we generate 50-100 leads". Of course you want to be original with your message.

Do This Every Single Day

5. Broadcast Emails

You want to broadcast emails to your group every other day. For this you, want to learn copy writing skills. I recommend getting on Mike Dillard's mailing list for examples of great copy writing.

The more you use these types of media it shows people you know what you're doing. You need to be every where to make a presence. The fact that you have a group is impressive and shows people you are a leader.

6. Wall Post On Groups

Create 4 short ads, for example...

"Struggling in MLM? So was I until I found this.. 500 leads and $1,000 in 30 days,"

"50-100 free MLM leads daily. Is it possible?" (include your web address)

Post one about 15 min apart.

The key once again (repeat after me) is to do it every single day (Consistency)

7. Wall Post On Friends Wall

Find one of your friends that seem to be big in business and has a lot of friends. If possible post a video and a personal note. Be sure you are adding value and never be pitchy, it is annoying. Be sure to use there name and commend them on there profile.

"Hey David, we're mutual friends of _____. Great profile you have here. I know your biggest frustration is finding "business builders and leaders. My video show how..."

Also on Wall to Wall post, you can also post something on your own wall and post it to no more than 50 friends at a time.

Tip: A video introducing yourself and welcoming new friends to your page will go a long way.

8. Post Videos in Groups.

When ever you can post a video that is powerful.

9. Cross Pollinate with Other Group Owners

You want to get your group numbers up to reach more people and be taken serious. One way to do this is to contact another group member with a good number and suggest you recommend each others members to the others group.

Using social sites to market takes time, but be patient and most of all consistent and it can pay off big.

Discover Facebook Marketing - The Facebook Marketing Explosion

Unless you've been living under a rock you are almost certainly familiar with Facebook, the biggest thing to happen to social networking since Myspace. Launched in February of 2004, it is only in the last year or so that Facebook has become the household name that it is today. What the average person may not be aware of however is that Facebook Marketing has recently begun to take off, and in a very big way.

With over 62 million active subscribers and growing, Facebook is still comparatively virgin territory for the swarms of internet marketers that, by many accounts, have turned Myspace into a virtual spam hell. Rest assured however, Facebook marketing has only just begun, and you can be sure, the marketers are coming. There is however some good news as well as some bad.

While the bad news is that Facebook spam is on the rise and is almost certainly going to get a lot worse before it gets better, the good news is that the Facebook is not as vulnerable to unsolicited messaging as Myspace is and Facebooks integration of an Adwords-like advertising system seems to be promoting a more pleasant environment for users and in turn a more profitable one for internet marketers.

Setting up a Facebook advertising campaign is extremely simple. You are guided through a series of steps that are similar, though several degrees simpler, than Adwords. You simply write an ad, select a headline, add an image, bid for ad placement, enter a credit card, and you're done. It's as simple as that. With Facebook advertising, you not only can target your ads by specific keywords and regions, but universities as well. It is a system so simple and effective that many are calling it "the new Adwords".

Like any marketing technique, Facebook marketing has its tricks, theories, and secret strategies. There is a right way and a wrong way to engage in Facebook marketing. However, if you are a business owner or an affiliate marketer who is after a demographic between 18 and 25, Facebook marketing may very well be a worthwhile addition to your marketing campaign.

Secret Facebook Marketing Strategies Hook Leads Like Crazy

Facebook is an unbelievable way to market using web 2.0, and you don't have to pay a thing for it.

I was blown away at the genius, and yet the simplicity behind these strategies for marketing on Facebook. I would look at the profile and all the people and think, "where in the world do I start?" So I wanted to share with you a few of the things that I was able to learn here.

Just by using a couple of simple strategies, you can take Facebook and have it pull in hundreds of truly interested leads, and, guess what, you really do make some amazing friends.

Now just in case you are wondering. You are going to have to build some friendships in order to build your business. This is something that I am sure you have heard over and over. It doesn't matter what you are trying to build, those relationships are always going to be the key to making it big.

The concepts for marketing on Facebook are just plain simple, but there are secrets that you don't know that are going to blow you away with leads if you get it right. Here are few of the initial things that you must get.

Your profile is the beating heart of your account. Sounds simple, but most don't get it. You can learn a ton about people just from their profile. Think about it. I bet you could learn more about your neighbors on Facebook even though you have lived next to them for years. That is what you want to want to do with your profile, but I bet there are some things that you may not know to do.

I was watching a video from a guy who is creating a ton of leads every day on Facebook. He stated that he doesn't spend very much time with people who do not put anything on their profile page. Why? Those people don't usually have much of a desire to let other people in. You just end up spending to much time on someone who doesn't care in the first place. Kind of makes you think about what your own profile page looks like. You do want to meet people that like you, right? Then it is time to give them a reason to like you.

Give away who you are and do it with value! Show some passion!

Share something with the world that shows you are a real person with real trials and successes!

Share your quirks! Wouldn't you want to know that occasionally I might skip if I think no one will know I am doing it? Maybe not, but I might have just connected with a few of the stranger folks out there.

That was just an overview of how to make your profile "pop". There's so much more like:

Here are a few other things to consider.

1. What is my unique selling proposition?
2. Find out how to use your personality as a unique selling point that can't be stolen.
3. So why would anyone want to be in business with you anyway?
4. There are secret ways to use your website URL that attracts attention to it.
5. Guarantee a response from friend requests with a few simple strategies.
6. Use that webcam to make yourself known and liked by everyone who sees it.

There are so many more things that can will put your Facebook into overdrive. A tweek here and a tweek there might be all that you need to get you in front of

Using these techniques along with a secret article marketing strategy that can't be stopped, have put me on the first page of Google!

Facebook, Twitter? What's in it For Me?

You've been in business for a while. You've had some successes. And then all of a sudden, business just isn't what it used to be. Where have all the clients and customers gone? You're doing the same things you used to do to get them to call or buy. Why isn't it working?

It's time to wake up and smell the coffee!

The world has changed while you were dozing. The economy has changed. Politics have changed. And with it all, the very way we communicate with each other has changed. Dramatically.

Welcome to Web 2.0! Consumers make buying decisions based on different criteria now. They want to know what everyone is SAYING about a product before they commit to buy. Only a small percentage of consumers trust advertising.

Huge companies are realizing the need to talk to their customers and prospective customers like the small businesses have always been able to do. With Facebook, blogs and Twitter, the playing field has been narrowed. What does this mean for you?

You need to do things differently now. You need to find new and personal ways to communicate with your customers and prospective customers. They have come to EXPECT that. Now you need to put systems in place to give your customers what they demand.

Do you want prospective customers to have you in the top of their minds when they look for services like you provide? Yes! How do you accomplish that?

You put yourself and your company where the customers are. And where are they? They're online, in social networks, TALKING to each other.

Wouldn't you like for them to be talking up your business?

Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Linked In, Blogs.

They're FREE tools at your disposal.

All you need is a roadmap.

Consider the effects on your business of your mastering this and other entrepreneurial skills.

How to Leverage Facebook For Sales & Marketing Success - A 5 Step Process

Facebook is one of the most popular social networking websites on the internet today. With a very large audience, Facebook offers unlimited potential for sales and marketing success. Follow these steps to grow your business on Facebook.

1. Business Profile
Update your business profile with up to date information. It should describe what your business is about and the products or services it provides. Also, make sure you include the business for your website.

If you have other members of your business, put them into your business profile. This will enable other members of your business to spread word of it to possible consumers who may be interested in your products or services. You want to allow your business to reach as many consumers as possible.

2. Engage in Groups
Facebook offers an unlimited number of groups based on a wide variety of topics and interests. These groups allow you to target related areas of your business. Look for groups to join in which users who belong to these groups would possibly be interested in your products.

3. Events and Posts
Facebook has a feature where you could post events for your business. Take advantage of this by scheduling events in which your fans (the term Facebook uses for people who follow your business) could attend. You could use this to provide a special sale in which customers could attend. This can also work for "online only" events. You could announce the starting date of a time and provide a link to a product at a special price. This could enhance the traffic to your site and the sales of your product.

Also, keep your fans updated regarding your business. If you have articles and posts about your business, you could simply link to your website on your Facebook page. Choose a method which works best for you. You should be updating your Facebook page on a consistent basis to keep your fans up to date regarding your business.

4. Don't Always "Sell"
One of the worst mistakes you can do on Facebook, or any other social networking platform, is to always try to directly sell products or services. People don't want to be constantly bombarded by advances from a business.

Develop relationships with those in groups. You don't want to keep throwing your product out there after every post you make. Begin by writing well-informed posts and responses to help other people or to contribute knowledge. Answer a few questions and get involved. This will allow others to see you and your business in a positive light. This will also expose users to your business in a more natural way. As they become more comfortable with you and get to know you and your business, they will naturally see what you have to offer. Also, they will be less likely to immediately disregard what you are selling when you do advertise and sell in your posts.

While you shouldn't always sell your product or services, you should be aware of when to sell. Once you have developed a relationship with your customers, don't be afraid to tell them about your new products or services, or to keep them updated with your business. Post occasional news items regarding your business in the groups you are a member of, and always keep the Facebook page of your business updated.

In addition to timely selling, it is important to keep customers interested. One great way to do this is to host specials on Facebook. You could even try placing exclusive Facebook discounts for your products or services on your Facebook page or in the groups. This would stimulate interests and sales for your business. Also, the consumer base will be more likely to grow if you post specials and deals in which your customers would be interested.

5. Paid Advertising
With Facebook's unlimited potential due to their high volume, it is worth considering paid advertising on Facebook. Facebook offers amazing potential and powerful ad systems.

One of Facebook's most powerful features is its ability to target users. Advertisers can now target users based on a wide variety of filters: location, age, birthday, sex, keywords, education, workplaces, relationship, interested in, languages, and connections. This will allow you to target who could be likely to be interested in your product or services. This is especially useful for those who have business which cater to very specific demographics.

You can also track how well your ad is performing. Clicks, click through rates (CTR), actions, action rates, and more can be tracked by Facebook's functionality to produce custom reports for your ads. Make sure you are aware of how your ads are doing and adjust accordingly. This is also a great way to test out Facebook's ad system to see if you should invest more money. Remember to start out with a reasonable test amount to get a more accurate reading of ad performance, though.

If you decide to use Facebook's paid advertising system, keep your goals in mind. Carefully target users who would be interested in your product, and use your financial resources wisely. Never over target customers. The most important thing to do is to develop interest in your product or services and then build these relationships. Then you will be able to sell to this customer base. Also, keep track on the resources that you are used and compare them to other paid advertising methods you are using, if applicable. You will then be able to evaluate whether Facebook is a good way to advertise your services or products your business offers.

Facebook Proxy - What's the Best Proxy?

Are you having problems accessing Facebook at work or perhaps at school? This is a problem frequently faced by students and by some people when they are at work. Facebook is such a popular social networking site that many schools and some work places have blocked it in an attempt to stop students or employees from wasting time online. If you are in this kind of situation, gaining access to Facebook again is much easier than you might think.

Facebook has been blocked by schools and work places for some time. This isn't a recent occurance. In fact, many sites are blocked by schools (mostly social networking sites) and Facebook is not the only victim of schools and work places blocking sites that some deem as unproductive. To gain access to Facebook you will need a proxy. Through the use of a proxy you will once again be able to access Facebook without your schools or workplace knowing. This is how a majority of other users who are also blocked from Facebook at school or work manage to access it without a problem.

There are two kinds of proxy servers that will give you access to Facebook. The first and most common is a web proxy. These proxy servers appear as simple websites and are the most predominant kind. There widespread availability is because they are extremely easy to setup. To use a web proxy to access Facebook you simply load up the web proxy page and then type in the Facebook url address. No software or user registration is required for web proxy sites. The second kind of proxy that you can use to access Facebook is that of a HTTP proxy. These are somewhat different than web proxies as they will require you to setup your web browser to access the proxy IP. Using the proxy IP you then are able to connect to Facebook. Both of these proxy solutions have benefits and disadvantages.

If you are trying to access Facebook, a web proxy or a HTTP proxy will solve your problem. Web proxies are widespread and easily available but they can sometimes be unreliable and extremely slow. If you are looking for a more permanent Facebook proxy solution, check out HTTP proxies as they offer much faster speeds with increased reliability.

Are You Using Facebook Marketing in Your Business?

Facebook was originally founded in early 2004 by a group of ex-Harvard university students as a service that was initially restricted to students of their own university.

After this Facebook got going pretty quickly as they were able to expand into most of the Ivy League schools in the USA. We then saw another expansion into most all colleges of the USA as well as a lot of the high schools.

After this period of time Facebook went international, expanding into the UK, Canada, and Australia, this was done by using the final guise as an educational service, and open to anyone who had a college or University Email address such as .edu, .ac, .uk and so on.

Then at a point in 2006, Facebook stirred up a large host of university and educational persons involved with the original grass roots educational movement and announced that anyone, worldwide could register and participate in Facebook. Needless to say this move upset a lot of the old timers of Facebook.

They still seem to have a good hold on the social networking and educational community, especially within the USA. The company touts the fact that most US college students have Facebook accounts.

Many other countries around the world have replicated this same thing. According to Wikipedia, facebook had the largest number of students registered of all the social network sites, with about 55 million users.

According to Facebook more than half of these, now at least 30 million persons actively participate within Facebook on a monthly basis. They are presently enjoying about 100,000 new sign-ups daily, for an expansion rate of 3% plus per week.

They claim the fastest growing segment or demographic group of new users is the age 25 group. So with some restraint and savvy this group could be the best for business uses when handled correctly.

Then you cannot overlook the fact that for a 1.6% stake in Facebook, Microsoft recently spent about $240 million dollars, this would put the value near 15 billion. The company and website is certainly moving quickly in the proper direction.

When you start to examine the demographics and structure of Facebook, it is easy to realize Facebook can represent a huge potential marketplace for your products and services.

Facebook - The New Frontier of Human Interaction

The World of Facebook...

....and other social not-working sites leave many of us more socially retarded than we were in high school...

Returning to Canada and running into "Facebook friends" of mine has really puzzled, humored--and in some cases annoyed me--enough that I think writing this article is worth my time.

Does anyone else have the following contacts on Facebook?

  • The brother or sister who is apparently too afraid to talk to you in person, but is chatty on your wall and private messages as if you've been through hell and high water together?

  • Or what about Joe "I went to high school/elementary school with you, but don't answer anything you write me-even though I'm the one who sent you the friend request in the first place?"

  • Or the friend you know "from somewhere", and have not been in touch with for years and years, and you have an initial "entry level communication" with? What I mean by that is, say that you found this person, and added them, and once they accepted your invite, you wrote on their wall or sent them a private message that showed up in their inbox, they responded, and had a follow up question of their own about your life and what is new with them. You respond to this and ask them one or two more details about their life, and the communication ends there with a total of three interactions--entry-level communication, but you remain "Facebook friends", and no doubt keep spying on each other's sites to know the latest news and developments, but otherwise have no real communication whatsoever.

Now, I'm not popular, and never have been--don't get me wrong. I have never been known to have lots of friends in social settings, but this Facebook thing, well everybody seems to be on it! I have almost 700 contacts on it, and yes, I am at the very minimum at least acquainted with all of them--but still accept ones I don't recognize hoping THEY will indicate how we know each other. And I have a handful of fictional characters from TV shows like The Simpsons. I accept any and every invitation I get, even if I don't recognize the person sending me the invite. Unless of course you're some hoochie mama and in your picture you're wearing almost clothes or I recognize your name from my seedy past of internet porn addiction, or I otherwise just simply know your name and pic is bad news and no real fruitful communication will come of it.

I've been on this thing for almost two years now, and I've noticed some peculiar things about human and social interaction from this website, that I realized telling my computer illiterate grandmother about it has helped me see just how ridiculously stupid the world of Facebook is (and of course, MySpace) if you really think about it and try describing to someone on the outside or who didn't grow up with the Internet.

One of those ridiculous observations is in fact the very reason I joined it-how easy it is to stay moderately informed about the latest goings-on in the lives of people in my social network with very little effort involved on my part-or theirs. When I first joined Facebook, the privacy settings were such that everything people did on their page showed up in my mini-feed. This is the part of your page, where once you sign in, there's a list of the latest activity that has taken place on your friends' pages. I LOVED this feature, and have taken full use of it by constantly putting pictures and newsletters, and now audio mp3s of our podcast, onto this social network, to constantly make people reminded of me. That's simply it. I still don't know the balance of how often is too often and becomes annoying, but this website is one of the most brilliant things people have invented for the internet and gotten me "in touch" with way more individuals than I could have on my own effort.

However, many people who joined the site were up in arms that they had so "little privacy" by having all the latest developments show up in their friends' mini-feeds (basically the home page after signing into the site). This is the part that has puzzled me completely: why did people join such a site if they felt that what happens on it is an invasion of privacy? And if they don't want certain people to know their latest updates, then why did they add them as friends on their network? If you don't want someone to see your page, there's boxes you check in your account information.

Myself, I have almost everything checked, and the more people on my account the merrier. I have forged for myself a career path that is public, and my life--generally speaking--is an open book, so the more I can put myself on peoples' minds for prayer and knowledge of my missionary life, the better it is for my interests of keeping people informed--especially those who WANT to be. Most or at least many churches in North America give little time and interest to the Great Commission as it is (other than outreach to the local community-which many churches excel at, in my opinion--but the sending out of missionaries.....?), so missionaries like myself have to keep making sure they come to your attention as much as the local "change the color of the sanctuary carpet" fund. Pictures can say a thousand words, so I put almost all of them on Facebook and you can SEE what I'm doing.

Needless to say, I love Facebook! But probably for different reasons than most who use it.

But allow me to put my emphasis on the word touch in the "keeping in touch" that Facebook allows. You barely have any real interaction with each other on this site. I've known about peoples' marriage and dating developments from their "relationship status" changing and showing up in my mini feed. I've known other people who've found out their girlfriends were dumping them by changing their relationship status on Facebook!

Probably none of you reading this will go out of the way to leave a comment about what you agree or disagree with, since on Facebook most people just lurk and 'face stalk', but you will have read this anyway. This is typical of the online community our generation is becoming--don't you think?

Facebook Tips For Beginners

Using facebook for marketing purposes is something that all individuals and businesses should consider. Initially, many people ignored facebook in order to concentrate their efforts on other social networking sites. Now, with facebook becoming available to more people with restrictions bands, businesses, and individuals are hurrying to create free accounts on facebook and using these accounts to help market their product, service, or organization.

If you are ready to try and use facebook as a promotional tool the first thing you need to do is create a profile. Without having a profile it is impossible to use the site in order to promote anyone or anything. Facebook is designed to not allow non-account holders to do complete member searches or even look at member profiles. Once a profile has been set up on facebook a business can now use the site to find users to contact and befriend.

After the new profile has been set up and a few friends have been added facebook marketing can now begin in earnest. The note posting system is a great way to keep new friends informed and interested in an organizations profile and what they are promoting. Sponsoring a contest or hosting an event can help promote a product, service, or organization while simultaneously giving new facebook friends something interesting to read about.

Posting pictures is another great way to get attention and feedback on facebook. Pictures help new friends put a face to the person or organization they have befriended. Great pictures to share on facebook are photographs of any events, pictures of products (especially if they are being used) and any photograph that would interest friends and casual facebook browsers.

While posting pictures is a good way to create a little facebook buzz posting videos is even better. Most digital cameras and camera phones will let anyone make a short video and many computers include free video editing software. All of this can be used to create short videos that can be used to spread a message. Keeping these videos short and sweet is usually the best course of action and will increase the chances of the video being shared.

Do not be afraid to share any news articles or reviews that are related to the product or service being promoted on facebook. Search the internet regularly for articles or reviews that have been created by credible third parties, and post links to the articles in notes. It is also possible to share the entire article, just be sure to include a link to the original authors web site so that interested parties can verify that the article came from a third party source.

One of the greatest things about facebook is that each time any action is completed it is added to the news feed. This means that all people that befriend an organizations facebook profile are notified whenever a new picture, video, or post is added on facebook. Even if friends do not visit the main profile they are still notified of the activities of each profile they have befriended. When they are notified they are able to go directly to the new item which keeps them from having to go through a profile looking for the content that has caught their interest.

How To Find A Proxy For Facebook

Proxies allow you to surf the internet with a high level of privacy, security and anonymity. When you access a website from the proxy server site, information like your browser type, location, operating system and IP address is eliminated and the proxy server website is recorded as the accessing computer instead of your computer. This helps you maintain the privacy, security and anonymity you desire, as it facilitates web browsing without your information being identified and bypasses the network filters and firewalls.

The process is very simple and convenient. You are not required to install or download any software to browse the blocked sites. All you have to do is type the desired URL (for example: http://www.facebook.com) on the main page and all connections and traffic to and from the destination URL is redirected via the proxy, making it look as if the traffic is evolving from the main proxy, thus bypassing the domain based URL filtering blocking system.
These proxies allow you to access any website without revealing your personal information, surf, download games and news, access online social networking websites and shopping sites, share videos, music, chat and a lot more.

When you use a proxy server, your computer establishes connection with the proxy instead of the destination website, and thus the blocking or filtering firewall will be able to trace this connection only. Further this proxy server, which may be transparent or anonymous, will create a connection to the desired URL which you want to access such as Facebook.com, and retrieve that website, eliminating any trace of your computer.

The proxies allow users to browse through the Facebook website, profiles, post comments, blogs and surf the site for music. Sometimes, you may be required to use the IP address of the proxy (i.e. http://200.10.10.12), instead of the domain name, which can be retrieved by pinging the URL from command prompt.

The number of web proxies is everyday increasing and more and more are being setup to earn revenues through advertisements. To search for proxies for websites like Facebook, you can use the search engines like Yahoo or Google. There are a number of websites offering these services and you can choose any of them as per your requirement. These proxies are Youtube and Facebook compatible and you can access any blocked site which is blocked by your school, university or company.

A Gift on Facebook

It is an internet phenomenon that is changing the way people take part in social networking and Facebook is also changing the way people give gifts. With Facebook, you can give a wide assortment of gifts to anyone in your social network, and all of them are free of charge. This is a great way to give a unique gift this year.

Naughty Gifts are the gifts you give to those people who understand your cheeky sense of humor. They are gifts that range from Popsicles to creamy goodness. One aspect of Naughty Gifts is the private gift function, which allows you to give gifts to others without other people on your network seeing.

Hugs are something everyone loves to get and Facebook gives you the ability to give and receive hugs from anyone in your network. Sometimes even a virtual hug can mean a lot to someone.

Flowers are universal as a gift, both in the virtual and real world. Facebook takes that concept and puts it into an application that can be added to your profile, which allows you to give flowers to anyone in your network. The cute aspect about flowers is that people do not know what the flower is until four days later when it blooms. It adds mystery and surprise to an old real gift staple.

Hatching eggs are not real gifts in reality, but on Facebook they can be a cute animal to add to your profile. Hatching eggs work much the same way that the flowers do in Facebook. A recipient will get a hatching egg and over the course of four days they will watch the egg crack until the prize inside is revealed. The prizes range from little ducks to horses.

My Garden is a Facebook application that gives others in your network the ability to place things in a virtual garden. These can range from sunflowers to garden gnomes. Another application that does a similar thing is the Aquarium application. This application lets users put fish in your fish tank, which is displayed on our profile for others to see, much in the same way as the My Garden application.

KissMe is similar to the hugs application, in that it gives those in your network the ability to plant a kiss on you, virtually of course. It also has a private setting so you can hide who you got the kiss from, or the person giving the kiss can keep his or her identity a secret.

Microsoft Acquired Facebook Share

For the bargain prize of 117 millions pounds, Microsoft bought a 1.6% stake of Facebook. Other companies such as Yahoo or Google also wanted to invest in one of the most popular social networking websites but Facebook declined their offer.

The aim of this partnership is simply to increase profits through advertising on both sides. Microsoft will sell internet ads for Facebook outside the US. The company already had an agreement with Facebook to provide banner advertising and links to the US version of the social networking site. This was the part of the deal discussed during several weeks. With this acquisition, Microsoft will become the exclusive third party seller of overseas advertising outside the US on Facebook. Knowing that the social networking site currently has 49 millions users, this could be a huge financial opportunity for Microsoft.

The Facebook deal is Microsoft's answer in its battle with Google. Looking one year back in October 2006, Google beat Microsoft with the 1.65bn dollar acquisition of online video sharing website YouTube.

With this partnership Facebook is looking to increase its current audience of nearly 50 million active users by becoming a real magnet for advertiser and also to compete fiercely with its rival MySpace which currently has 100 million users. Facebook also wants to take advantage of existing Microsoft skills. According to Charlene Li, an analyst at Forrester Research, the software group knew better -in comparison to Google- how to work with program developers and build computing environments. She said that "Microsoft is a company that knows how to build platforms, knows how to develop relationships with developers. The social networking site is hoping with Microsoft 's collaboration to struggle less to reach leader position."

Facebook Manners - Proper Facebook Etiquette For Your Business

Facebook has become a universal fetish for teens, college students, moms, dads, business people, musicians, artists, baby boomers, grandmas and grandpas...there is no limit to the reach of Facebook. Frightening?

Naaaahhh...but one must realize that this social movement requires you to learn some Facebook manners! (especially if you're looking to do any marketing on Facebook or if you're trying to make money with Facebook).

So what's this "Facebook Etiquette" thing all about? Well, it might be easier to start by talking about what NOT to do on Facebook so you can avoid getting labeled as a "spammer" or as so many people call them today an "idiot marketer". To remain in what many "Facebookers" would call appropriate Facebook marketing etiquette, DO NOT:

1) DO NOT: Post on your wall 5, 10, 20 or 50 times a day about whatever it is you're trying to market. This is the worst thing you can do and you'll only have people on Facebook "un-friending " you if you keep this crap up.

2) DO NOT: Send out your friend request with a link to your business or site...Think about it...Facebook is about relationships and you're already labeling yourself as the sleazy salesman/saleswoman...no one wants to be friends with people who are just looking to take your money.

3) DO NOT: Spam people's inboxes with whatever it is you think is "soooo" great or "soooo" important. Just because you enjoy what you're doing, doesn't mean everyone else on Facebook wants to do it. Oh, and definitely don't send these spammy emails everyday! We can't stand you people! This is the fastest way to get black balled in the Facebook community.

If you're getting hit with hard with marketing messages by people that you've met on Facebook, do these people a favor...

TELL THEM TO STOP! You don't have to put up with bad Facebook Marketers and poor Facebook Etiquette. What I suggest, you tell people is..."Hey, we just met. You're coming on a little heavy with the marketing. I'm here on Facebook to create relationships and to meet people. Slow down."

Think of it in the "dating" context. You're not going to go out on a date with a hot chick or a hot guy and try to get to third base on the first date (unless your goal is to get slapped and walked out on). If you just met someone you have to talk to them, ask questions, share info about your likes and dislikes...you can see where I'm going with this. The same rules apply in the world of Facebook. Don't try and hit one out of the park when you just meet someone. Take the time to create a relationship and get to know people. This takes a little bit of work, but it will pay off. By creating healthy, "real" relationships you will be able to share ideas, network, and find the right people to buy into what it is you have to offer.

That's it. Pretty simple. Just stay away from the "short cuts" and easy temptation to just blast out your marketing to every kid, mom, grandpa, business person, and everyone else you meet on Facebook. Do it the right way and have some Facebook Manners!
