Making Sales Via Facebook

You really need a website first, and then you can drum up business via the Facebook epoch.

It takes almost no effort to make sales via the Facebook method. Since people aren't watching television and listening to the radio like they used to, businesses need to explore the new types of emerging businesses.

You can post as much as possible, which is a great way to engage the audience that you might have on Facebook. Get as many likes as you can and then build up from there.

Link everything that you can think of. Facebook's threaded comments make it a much better tool than Twitter for interacting with your fans. Having all your replies in one place makes conversations much more natural. Try to keep up with the responses as well, as these can all be potential actuations to your website.

Facebook fan pages are another great way to generate sales and energy. There are some easy ways to promote your page. Of course add the widget on your sidebar. But did you know you can even post it anywhere you need it on the web? It can be where you want it all the time.

If you have someone stop by the fan page, they can click the "like" button. Attach the Facebook "Like" button to your blog, newsletter, home page of your website, or anywhere else online.

Use these tips to generate more leads and traffic. There are many social networking websites, but Facebook is currently the leader in users and buzz.

Your updates will link to your friends' walls to show them what you are doing. Create contests that can run within Facebook maybe your campaign would push all contest entrants to Facebook. Then you could even move on to other things like referrals that get you into the game.

Facebook - 3 Free Ways to Grow Your Network Marketing Business

So you want to use Facebook to grow your business? You setup your profile and place a ton of your company information and your contact information on it so when people stumble on it they can contact you. Most then add a ton of pictures of their products and links to how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. That's all fine and dandy if you just wanted to push the "product". We all know products will get sold but to whom? Who will get those sales? If you want to be the distributor responsible you need to differentiate from all the other distributors in your company. You might think y our only competing with other companies for business and you would be partially correct. You also need to compete with distributors in your own company.

Lets say you are your own product. If that is the case, then you still need to promote yourself. Why buy from you? Selling your own product on Facebook depends a lot on advertising. Generic advertising that most do is blast information on their profile. This generally doesn't work. If your using your Facebook profile to sell someone you are probably already in trouble. People generally need to be pre-sold before coming to your site. Which means your advertising outside of Facebook has to do a lot of work before people come to you. Then again, Facebook doesn't really work like that anyways right? Who wants to be friends with a person who is a Giant advertisement? Do you really want some Facebook friend posting profile status and wall posts only to promote a product? That gets old quick, as people will realize that they are being used as a free advertising source.

3 Free ways to grow your business in Facebook is to be a REAL person.

1. Get a Real picture of You

I'm not talking about an avatar image. Most people think that you can add a cute picture of a cat or a giant image of your product and that will help you on Facebook. Facebook is generally used to network individuals and to do so you need a mug shot. Okay, maybe not a mug shot but get a picture with your good side. Some might like y our fancy car you have on you profile but how does that really connect you to your audience? You need to brand your own image onto people's minds. What makes you different from every other business out there? Don't get it confused.

Example: If you sell Coke for a living and you have a Giant Coke image on your profile does that really help? Sure people know you either love Coke or work for them. How does that differentiate you from other Coke distributors? That Coke image doesn't set you apart from every other person with that same image. Your image is really the only picture you have to differentiate yourself. You want to stick out and not be filed as another Coke distributor.

2. Set Your Region

People don't realize you can actually localize yourself in Facebook. Some people look over this because they are a global distributor. Your shooting yourself in the foot if you don't let yourself be found. Why would you want to block people from finding you? Isn't part of network marketing about having ways for people to find you easily? You want to be found by people who want your product or service. Easy ways to do this is by joining networks in Facebook or Neighborhoods. I recommend networks as that is shown on your profile easily.

Many distributors are localized to states or even regions. Knowing exactly where people are will only help boost your sales. What if someone in your area wants to become a distributor but only wants to talk to someone who is local? Location information in this situation will be the difference between getting new business or being looked over.

This is critical as there will be a time when you have enough traffic going through Facebook and many members will start to lean towards people in their region. Don't prevent people from finding YOU. Generating leads for your network marketing business in your local area will greatly boost your ability to reach out and connect with them.

3. Fill Out Your Profile

Way too many people only put a tiny bit of information on it. Makes it look like your either hiding something or you got something to hide. People want to network with people they know. It's hard to do that if you got a picture of a cat and you have no clue to what they do in their spare time. Even worse, you don't even k now what they do professionally. I totally recommend you put where you worked full time or working now.

Education is also a key. Stating where you went to a University and what you studied will help you relate to many people on Facebook. People get addicted to adding a ton of applications and their page slows to a crawl. The NEW Facebook has now placed information in different tabs to break up it up and make it easier to see where someone is and what they do for a living.

Can Facebook Really Be Used For Business? Of course!

There are many simple ways to promote your business using Facebook. Facebook alone should be able to drive significant traffic if utilized correctly. Start generating leads to your network marketing business using simple strategies like these.

Facebook Login Security Guide

Facebook can be an enjoyable site to use to keep in touch with your friends and family, play online games, and join groups with others who share your common interests. However, if you are not careful with your personal information, Facebook can also be a ground for spammers and identity thieves to take over your profile.

Some of the most common problems that Facebook users can run into if they do not have secure logins are:

Fake Facebook pages

Internet hackers and spammers often design pages that look exactly like Facebook as a setup to take users' personal information. When a Facebook member logs in to a fake page, the spammer takes their account information and uses it to send fake messages to the person's friends. The messages usually feature a bad web link that can steal the information of others who receive the message and click the link.

One example of a bad Facebook page is silvertag.be. This site steals login information and spams all of the victim's contacts with the same link.

E-mail messages

Spammers can also send e-mails to Facebook users where they pose as Facebook administrators. Usually these contain a link promoting pictures or videos from a party, or even a pornography site. If a user is reading the email and clicks the link, the spammer can get a hold of the login information and create multiple Facebook pages with it. One way they create multiple Facebook pages is by using the information they obtain to use the same picture of one person, but associate that picture with different names. The bad link is also on the person's profile.

The domain name in these e-mails is usually not Facebook.com. There is usually another word before the ".com"; which makes users believe they are going to Facebook when they are really not.

If you are a Facebook user, there are some ways you can keep yourself safe while using the website.

Don't share your password with anyone. It doesn't matter how close you are to friends or family members, you should never divulge what your login email and password is. You never know what could happen if someone you sever ties with gets on to your page; or if a family member could log on and see something you don't want them to see. By the same token, you also shouldn't write down your passwords and then leave it lying around. If you must write it down, put it in a safe place.

Make sure you are only logging in on Facebook.com. If you are not sure if you are on Facebook, type http://www.facebook.com in your address bar and login from there.

If you are surfing Facebook and another page comes up that requires your login or other personal information, leave the page immediately. While Facebook can be a fun site, it has its own set of dangers that prove nothing is 100% safe online. Trust the site, but take caution too.

The Internet is full of dangers and users need to understand that security should be an important part of their Internet usage. The site login helper educates the user with articles like Facebook Login so that the Internet experience becomes a pleasant one.

Facebook Cafe World Hints

Here's a few Facebook Cafe World hints to help you become a master chef in no time!

1) Set up a good cooking schedule.

One problem many beginners run into is that they find themselves with no food on the counters, so their customers aren't bringing in money!

In fact if you run out of food and aren't playing at the time to close your café, your Buzz Rating will get killed.

Make sure you keep a variety of foods cooking that will let you keep your Cafe open 24/7!

2) Use the most profitable foods.

Some foods only give 1 coin per serving (like Chips and Guacamole) while others give up to 99 per serving (the VIP dinner special!)

This is one of the most crucial Facebook Cafe World hints to follow because if you make lots of Cafe points, you're also going to be able to level up much faster as well!

Some strategy guides out there show you the most profitable foods- use them!

3) Set up an efficient layout for your cafe.

Are your servers able to get food to customers as soon as they sit down?

If it seems like there is a long delay between when they sit down and when they get their food, your servers are walking too far.

Make sure your servers don't have too far to walk, and that they aren't constantly walking around stuff to reach the customers.

Two great layouts I've found are the horse shoe layout and having a few rows like a school cafeteria.

Setting Up a Facebook Fan Page - Generate Traffic and Build a List by Creating a Page on Facebook

Facebook fan pages are an excellent way to promote your business on the Internet. This works extremely well, no matter if you work exclusively online, have a physical brick and mortar business, or do some combination of both. There are several things you need to know in order to get started, and then you will be on your way to marketing yourself and your business through one of the best methods now available, all at no cost to you.

Make sure you have an account over at Facebook before you try to go any further. You must have a personal account set up, along with a profile, before you can go any further. This only takes about fifteen minutes from start to finish. Upload a picture of yourself and include a link to a website or blog. Any other information, such as your birthday or relationship status, is completely optional. I find that this information is best for communicating with people you already know, along with family members, rather than for marketing a business and reaching out to potential prospects and customers.

Once you are all set up, look for an application called 'ads and pages'. This application should automatically appear on your home page, but you may have to search for it. It is typically in the lower left side of your screen. Click on the icon and it will take you to the next screen. Ads refers to the advertising program available through Facebook. Do not do anything with this, as it is not related to what I am explaining about setting up your fan page.

When you get to the pages section, choose to 'create a new page'. You will have three choices of what type of page you wish to create. These are:

  • Local

  • Brand, product, or organization

  • Artist, band, or public figure

With each of these are more choices. While you may be tempted to create a page under public figures as a comedian or a government official, resist the urge and choose one of the other two instead. Choose local if the business you will be promoting depends primarily on getting clients from a particular geographic region. This is excellent for small service businesses, such as plumbers and dentists. You can choose other business if your category is not shown. If you are promoting a product, choose the second category, the one called brand, product, or organization. This is also the choice if you are promoting a charity or non-profit group, such as your Rotary Club or church.

Now it is time to name your page and then click on create page to save what you have done.

And now I invite you to download a video on how to get started with your own Facebook Fan Page by visiting http://FacebookFanPageSuccess.com and start driving massive traffic and building a list to promote your business on the Internet with this marketing phenomenon.

How to Use Facebook Layouts to Attract Visitors to Your Website

These days, the proliferation of social media on the internet has driven a lot of businesses to consider marketing their products via social media, whether directly or indirectly. Whether it's MySpace or Facebook, many are getting on the social media bandwagon because of the huge reach such portals have over millions of internet users who are a part of the social media community. If you run an online enterprise that is dependent on internet traffic, you should already know by now the importance of providing something - be it in the form of content or product - that will bring in both new and repeat traffic to your website. This article will show you how to use Facebook layouts to attract visitors to your website.

While many businesses prefer a more customized network as an essential tool to engage their customers, the number of businesses taking advantage of the inexpensive yet effective Facebook platform to engage in viral marketing is increasing by the day. These businesses are benefiting from the sheer number and demographics of users on Facebook, so it makes prudent sense to hop onto the Facebook bandwagon. But how do you go about using Facebook effectively as a source of increased traffic to your website?

The first and most important aspect of your Facebook profile should be your profile page. Not only is it the one page you have most control over, it is the place where you can convey your message to the hordes of other Facebook users. First impressions are important, and your profile page makes the first impression for you and your business. Many underestimate the number of page views a profile page generates. Connect to your customers, associates, and friends using the profile page; the connections you display on your profile page will stir the interest of profile viewers to know more about the people you're connected with and you yourself; both as a business and as an individual entity.

While many use Groups to engage in viral marketing, you should consider using Facebook Pages instead if you're looking to customize your Facebook layout. Facebook Pages are more customizable as compared to Groups, because you can add HTML, Flash, or applications to your pages. These little add-ons extend your pages' functionality and make it more interesting for users to peruse your profile pages. Also, there are no limitations as to how many "fans" in your group that you can message, so it gives you a wider reach to your targeted audience, making it a viable option for small businesses that are looking to establish their presence on Facebook.

But if you have the budget, Facebook also allows you to reach an even wider audience. Whatever your budget, you can choose a simple short-run flyer for a few dollars or even a customized "sponsored group" campaign in Facebook for a few hundred thousand dollars. Social Ads is one example of an affordable ad that you can consider, as these ads are placed on profile pages and news feeds and gets your business out there via click-throughs.

So you see, there are many options for you to choose from when using Facebook layouts to attract visitors to your website. Whatever your budget, Facebook is a viable solution you can consider when you're looking to increase the traffic to your website.

Creating an Effective Facebook Page For Your Bed and Breakfast Inn

As an innkeeper for a quaint bed and breakfast inn, you are charged with the task of not only creating a comfortable, homey environment for your guests, but also managing an effective marketing campaign that exposes your accommodations over large chain hotels. It can be rough especially for the new B&B owner to compete with a national corporation and their seemingly endless budget, but if you are savvy enough to operate social media and use it to your advantage, you can cut a chink in their business and watch yours grow. A Facebook fan page is a great, and free, way to start.

Facebook Profiles and Fan Pages - the Difference

If you have a Facebook profile, you might be apprehensive about promoting your bed and breakfast through this network. Over the last few years, concerns about privacy have cautioned Facebook users from volunteering too much information, and you may not wish to arbitrarily add strangers to your friend network. The good news is: you don't have to. With Facebook you can set up an individual page devoted to your inn or vacation rental, and people can join that page for information. Your profile remains intact.

What can a fan page do for your lodging business? Now that Facebook URLs show up in search engine results, plenty! At the bottom left corner of your Facebook dashboard, you'll find an icon that takes you to the setup area for a page. The wizard is user-friendly and the end result looks similar to your personal profile, only you have the opportunity here to promote your bed and breakfast main website, directions, and other important information. Also, you can create photo albums for your specific rooms and amenities, and list events happening in your area and at your inn. A video tab option allows you to upload short clips advertising the finer points of your B&B, or homemade "commercials" for viewers to enjoy.

Facebook Extras

While Facebook limits how users can structure fan pages, there are widgets available to enhance the functionality. If you are familiar with HTML, then using the Static FBML function can help you create custom tabs for your page. You can set up qualified code to direct users to a reservation engine or your Twitter feed or Flickr account...anything you wish.

Facebook also has a proprietary advertising program, where you can market to specific demographics. If you seek in-state visitors, for example, you can advertise to profiles in the area - or to women only, people who like a specific football team near your home, and so on. Using the cost per click model, this social network's advertising is affordable and the analytics are easy to discern.

The notes section on the fan page is for making informative posts, much like a blog. To cut time, if you have an existing blog set up you can plug the RSS feed into the Notes application and every time you blog it will feed into your Facebook page.

Finding Friends

Once you've set up shop, next comes the job of getting people to join your fan page. Of course, word is mouth is the best method of advertising, so naturally the first thing to do is let your personal friends know the page is live! Make sure to include some kind of link on your main website leading to the page (Facebook has widgets and code available for us) to authenticate the fan page, and promote away. As other social networks have applications to interconnect with Facebook, you'll find spreading the word is as simple as typing your inn's name.

If you do not already have a fan page for your lodging, it is important to set it up as soon as possible. Add social functionality to your business solidifies your brand in social media, and helps you better promote your inn. Invest the time to promote through Facebook and see the improvement in your reservations.

Three Things to Consider Before Submitting to a Business Web Directory

It's a fact, no matter how well designed or how impressive your product, if nobody knows who you are odds are your website might as well not exist.

Things have changed from the days of the brick and mortar marketplace. Where store fronts and marquees were all easily seen and located. Where once a city's growth, was a determining factor for the amount of business's available in any given area, a drive down main street and the local mall were all that was needed to identify and locate any particular business. Now we see a much different marketplace, gone are the good ole days when local shop owners had the security of knowing they had the only game in town. Now the rules have changed the number of business available to the average consumer are almost infinite, as well as the products offered.

Getting your business web site up and running is the first step. The second step is getting your business noticed. One of the best ways to get your new online business up in the public eye is to submit to a business web directory. Finding one is as easy as typing in the search engine "web directory" or "business web directory," and choosing one of the many web directory services available. Each business directory on the web will require submission of your web site for approval and will have certain criteria that must be met on the content and site operation. Making sure that your site meets these requirements before submitting will ensure quick and easy placement in the search rankings.

Three important things to consider:

1. Does your website contain unique and interesting content? Dynamic and informative articles, product displays and interesting content are usually viewed as more appealing to the consumer and will rank higher in the numerous search engines. The more innovative and informative the better.

2. Is your website user-friendly? Make sure your links, pictures and products do not contain broken or incorrect links. This is a sure way to have your submission refused. Check all links and product information for errors thoroughly several times.

3. Check to make sure that your website meets web standards for accepted web content. These standards were developed by business's and organizations within the consortium in order to standardize web applications for the World Wide Web. To find out more visit the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) FAQs page online for a complete list and explanation of the W3C standards.

Once you have made sure that your website meets these criteria you are ready to submit your website to a business web directory. Your diligence and attention to detail will go far in assuring that your website is placed high in the search engine rankings, bringing you one step closer to getting your business off to a fast and profitable start. It could very possibly be the difference between a successful venture into the virtual marketplace and one of failure and frustration.

As with all endeavors, the more effort in the preparation the better the outcome. Whether your business is well established or new, proper search engine ranking is imperative for success in the online marketplace.

What to Do If Your Facebook Or Twitter Account is Hacked

Unfortunately, this scenario is a reality for all of us who use social networking -- it's not a matter of IF your Twitter or Facebook account will be hacked, but simply WHEN. I've been on the receiving end of messages from my friends whose accounts have been hacked. The message typically compliments me on some body part or requests me to click on a link to view a video of myself. Also, there are usually a number of misspellings in the message.

Be very careful when you get those kinds of messages, even when they are coming from trusted friends who would normally not engage in this type of behavior. Many of the messages are linked to a virus or some type of malware that either infects your computer or will gain access to your account and send all of your friends and followers spammy messages. If you do slip and click on one of these links, pay attention to what your virus scanning software tells you, especially if you get a security warning about a site.

If your Twitter account is hacked:

1. Visit Twitter's information page for problem resolution.

2. Log out of Twitter

3. Clear your browser cache (your browsing history and cookies and private info) and close down your browser.

For Internet Explorer: Go to Tools -- Internet Options, and then click on the "Delete" button under Browsing History. Check all of the boxes (except InPrivate Filtering data) and click on the "Delete" button.

For Firefox: Go to Tools -- Clear Recent History, and then click on the down-arrow next to "Details", check all of the boxes, and select "Everything" for the time range to clear.

4. Open a new browser window, log into Twitter, and change your password. You can also use the Twitter password reset feature to set a new password before logging in again.

5. Visit your settings page and check your Connections. Revoke access for any third-party application that you don't recognize.

6. Submit a support request to let them know you have taken all of the proper steps to reset your account and to request that your direct messaging capability be restored. You can also include info on any statuses that weren't posted by you in the body of the request.

7. Update your password in all of your third party applications as well. If a third party application (like Facebook, Twitterrific, Twhirl, etc.) is trying to use your old password to access your tweets, it will lock you out of your account.

If your Facebook account is hacked:

1. Visit Facebook's information page for problem resolution.

2. If you are still able to access your login email address, then use the "Forgot your password" link to prompt an email from Facebook with a password reset code. If you can't access your account, then use the link above.

3. Clear your browser cache (your browsing history and cookies and private info) and close down your browser as described above.

4. Your account could also have been phished/hacked by a phishing web site, worm, or malicious software. To ensure that all is safe again, refer to the "Warnings" section on Facebook.

Take care when using Twitter and Facebook. Trust your intuition, and if something doesn't look or feel right, ignore it or delete it before clicking on it. You will have probably saved yourself hours or headache in trying to restore a hacked account.
