Facebook Marketing Tip - Creating a Fan Page to Brand Your Business

Facebook is now the hottest social networking site worldwide. Today, it has more than 175,000,000 active members. Other than adding friends and playing games in Facebook, you can also use it to market your business. Facebook is a very effective marketing channel and if you are willing to spend a little bit of time and effort, you can definitely see results from it.

There are a few ways to market on Facebook, some common methods are: fan page creation, group creation, social ads, and banner ads. Social and banner ads will cost you some money. If your budget is tight, you may want to create a fan page for your business. A business fan page functions just like a member's profile page. As the admin or owner of the business, you can upload photos, add links, post videos, write a description of your business, etc. If you want more targeted visits to your fan page, you can actually use social ads to advertise your fan page.

One benefit of the fan page is that it encourages user-generated content. Fans can participate in discussions, share videos & links, post on walls, leave comments, etc. This creates a buzz around your business fan page and promotes your brand worldwide.

Another benefit of a fan page is that people can share it easily. When your friends become a fan of your business, they can click on the button and suggest the page to their friends. This will create a viral effect and spread your brand name to more people. If you connect with enough people, your fan page will viral itself.

If you have a blog, you can import it easily to the fan page. This will ensure that there will always be fresh content on the page and get more people to become fans. Also, you can import other widgets like Flickr photos or Picasa album onto the page too.

Facebook is the fastest growing website online. With so many active members, you cannot afford to miss this marketing channel out. If you want more exposure, there is still Facebook social ad. With social ads, you can target people based on demographics. This is especially useful if you run a business-to-customer (B2C) business.

So if you have not leverage on Facebook to market your business, you should do it now. It only takes you a few minutes to create a fan page. So stop procrastinating and start tapping on the vast network of Facebook.

Facebook Marketing Secrets - The Success Strategy

These Facebook Marketing Secrets can really help you grow your MLM business. Learning how to market your MLM business on facebook might be a little confusing to you at first. Between YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, a smart network marketer can build a large following and a large income too. Network marketing, after all, is all about building relationships.

And by putting any of these three powerful social networking medium to good use, a marketer can quickly establish lasting relationships and build a list of like-mined people to whom he may eventually introduce products or services.

In this article, I will show you the techniques of marketing your MLM on Facebook.

Social networks such as Facebook thrive on GIVING. The most popular or most attractive people in any of these networks are those who people perceive to have a lot (mainly by way of information) to give to others. It is important for you to understand and approach social networks with this principle in mind. If you do, you'll surely attract quality followers.

Basically, to market on Facebook, you need to begin by making your bio as fascinating, unique, and interesting as possible. Your profile of course must be genuine. DO NOT include any reference to your business on your FB profile! Most members are not here strictly for business. So do not give yourself away. Mention your other interests instead.

That is what will quickly arouse reaction from like-minded 'friends."

After that, spend 25-40 minutes each day adding targeted friends to your Facebook account. Visit FB GROUPS to search for targeted groups with interests related to your business, and join such groups. Perhaps you are marketing health supplements; your target groups should be those who are clearly health-conscious.

Next, after becoming a member of such groups, contribute meaningfully to group discussions: submit real posts, offer real values, join conversations. If you do this everyday, you're sure to stick out. Gradually, begin to add friends. You can often do this by sending a request, preferably accompanied by a personal message which could read something like: "I've been following your posts, and I must say I share your views. I think we should be friends and exchange ideas more personally."

The more you interact and contribute to the community, the more your profile will stick out. And if in addition people find you entertaining, inspirational, and educational, then you'll keep getting friendship requests, because you've simply become attractive! Aim at adding 5 to 10 friends each day.

But don't think of monetizing your Facebook presence just yet. Allow at least 30 to 45 days before attempting to pitch your business opportunity. In the meantime endeavor to remain active in your community, and to continue to contribute quality posts to the groups you've joined-you should join at least 5 well-chosen groups. Most successful facebook marketers have also discovered that it helps to contribute posts to high traffic FAN PAGES. So isolate a number of premium fan pages and post in them at least once each day.

Continue to give value, and you'll gradually be looked upon as a leader. It is also fine if you can provide links to other professional contents-both yours and that of others.

You can now gradually begin to promote your products to your Facebook community. But DO NOT SPAM. And do not in any way force people to look at what you are marketing. Shape your approach in such a way that people will feel they voluntarily chose to click on your link. Meanwhile continue to give more than you take from your group.

And continue to brand yourself as a leader and to build relationships within the community. As a result of the value you have given, and the goodwill you've built up, some members will favorably consider your MLM opportunity.

Some may even give you their phone contacts so you can continue the prospecting on phone. Either way, you would've built up a huge list of like-minded people to whom you can now market your opportunity, either using this same forum (Facebook) or in conjunction with other strategies.

Facebook - Fan Page Versus Group

Facebook has become one of the most cutting edge platforms to grow your business. Lets face it...there are a lot of people spending a lot of time on there! And best of all its FREE. But it can be a little confusing as to how to best set up a business on Facebook.

There are 2 main options for hosting your business presence on Facebook ~ a Fan Page or a Group. In some ways a group and fan page are similar, but there are some distinctive differences to be aware of.

Fan Pages

Fan pages are used to promote people, celebrities, groups of people, businesses & more. They are created to increase promotion, attract supporters, and generally increase awareness & online presence and of course interaction with customers and potential customers. The 'Marketing' of the person or group being promoted through a Fan page happens in a variety of ways.

1. When a person 'likes' a fan page, that connection is posted on their wall and then shown in the Home Page feed for others to see. Then friends of that person click on the page just connected with...and so the number of followers grows.

2. You do not need to be a Facebook user to view a Fan Page. A person may follow a link from somewhere eg. a website and look you up on Facebook from anywhere in the world.

3. These pages are not private pages...so anyone can access the information on a particular page even if they haven't 'liked' it as such. (If you aren't sure what all this 'liking' is its Facebook's new way of 'becoming a fan' of a page. Where a person once became a 'fan' they now become a 'liker').

4. Its easy to post a link to a fan page across other Facebook pages...putting the pages name in front of different groups of people.

A page is easier to manage and has less limitations & more options to customise & increase functionality than a group. A page is run by 'admins' who can be changed when required, and allows those who've been added as an admin to make changes and post on the wall of the page & generally manage the page and its happenings.

Facebook Group

As the name implies, a Group is more designed for socialisation and interaction between Members who have been brought together for a purpose. A group is run by 'Administrators' who can change information, photos etc and accept Members.

There are a number of options with a group, including making it a Private Closed group where Members can discuss sensitive and confidential information. People would need to request to join these kinds of groups.

There are a few benefits of creating a group for your business. One benefit is that you can send an email to group members. This is especially handy if you are offering free training, specials, events etc.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be careful how much information you send. You don't want to SPAM someone's mailbox so much that they remove themselves from your group. None of us like spam, so make sure what you have to say is important. I would recommend no more than 2 messages a week, so make them count!

Facebook Advertising & Promotion.

When it comes to paid advertising on Facebook, you cannot advertise a Group. You will need to refer people to an outside BLOG or website and send them back to your Facebook group from there. A Fan page though can easily be linked to Facebook advertising. Many times people will need to be invited to join a group (though some people will just join if they like what they see).

Make an informed Decision.

Before making a decision for your business on whether to create a Fan page or Group its important to review what you're objectives are for the page...what you want to achieve. A lot more can be done with a Fan Page in regards to adding functionality, where as a Group may be the answer if you don't need any of that, and its just a means to bring people together for one purpose.

One of the best ways to help determine the differences between a Fan Page and Group, is to actually go check some out. See how they work, how they look and how they function..and make an informed decision from there.

How to Promote Your Business on Facebook

Facebook is not just another web-based site on which children can send meaningless messages to one another and practice the art of bad grammar and spelling without their parents watching. If used cleverly, Facebook can be a useful tool for businesses and can allow business owners the chance to network with others.

You surely do not need to be told what Facebook is but, for those who have been living in a cave for the past ten years, Facebook is a social networking site which allows individuals and businesses to set up their own page and find friends, leave messages, post pictures and communicate with others in real time. It's free to set up and you can use it from anywhere in the world where you have access to the internet.

So, you can create your own page in minutes and start inviting people who you know to become a fan of your page. You could set up a group in your own company name and allow people to join the group. In turn, they can then invite everyone they know and so it snowballs. What you can then do is add features to your page with regular posts and updates just to keep everyone informed. It's all possible within a few moments and it really is very simple.

Facebook also allows you the option to pay for advertising on its site. You can do this as a one off advert and payment or you can use pay per click options which means that you pay as and when someone clicks on your advert through to your website.

The beauty of social networking sites is that you can now link them all by pointing from one to another. So, you may want to point your Twitter account to your Facebook account and to your LinkedIn account, and so on. One way or another, you are quite simply encouraging visits to your own website and making it easier to be found. You are constantly promoting your business and hopefully picking up referrals along the way. It only takes one person to see your advert or page, use you and tell their friends about you, and the possibilities are endless. Facebook is used by millions of people all over the world and so imagine the potential reach to your audience!

In essence, you are using Facebook as a search engine optimisation technique which then drives traffic to your website. You are creating a whole network of online places from which your business can be searched for and found. It's all about having a presence and increasing brand recognition to the point where people say "ah yes Joe Bloggs, I know him".

If you want to get down with the kids and chat with your friends at the same time as being a successful business, then Facebook has it all and you might just actually start to enjoy it!

A Beginner's Guide to Fundraising on Facebook - 4 Simple Steps

Facebook is a social networking site and a great tool for connecting with donors, spreading the word about your cause, and gaining new supporters. Just like any tool, you need to know how to use it effectively in order to get the most benefit from the resources you invest in it. It's free to sign up, but be careful or you'll spend tons of time there!

To fundraise with Facebook, there are a few easy steps to take. Here's what you need to do.

1. Set up a personal profile for yourself on Facebook.
2. Create a "page" for your nonprofit organization.
3. Create a "cause" for your nonprofit organization and attach it to your page.
4. Ask everyone you know to join become a fan of your page and a member of your cause.

Then create a fundraising campaign and ask folks to support you.

Don't create these pages on Facebook then sit back and wait for the money to roll in. It's not a "build it and they will come" kind of thing. You must remind people regularly that you have a Facebook presence and that they can support you.

Here are some tips for maximizing your presence on Facebook:

o Have a plan and know what you want to get out of it. Start with an idea of the result you want. Otherwise, you can wander blindly, spending tons of time and not getting really anything in return.
o Learn all you can about using Facebook and its features. Take advantage of every teleseminar and article you can to learn something new.
o Spend a little time on it regularly. The more you play with it, the more you'll learn and the better you'll get at using it.
o Watch other nonprofits that are doing well on Facebook and mimic them. Find a nonprofit that is raising money and follow their lead.

There are over 90 million people on Facebook and more sign up every day. Don't get left behind!
