Navigating Around the Wall on Facebook
Facebook is one of the most popular social networking sites today if not the single most popular one. There are lots of great features that you can use on the website and the Wall is one of the most important aspects of Facebook. Here is a look at how to navigate around the Wall on Facebook to make it a more satisfying experience.
The Facebook Wall is one of the most important parts of the website and is the place where people interact most with each other. You can, and should, control who can see your wall and who can access the information you put on your profile. You can restrict the people that can see your wall or view the information on your profile. There are many setting that allow you to do this in the privacy controls of Facebook. Most people recommend that you only allow your friends to see you and your information on Facebook. There are legitimate security concerns about the information you can put on the site and you should be careful with what you put online even for your friends to view. You can control what you do on your profile and your wall, but aren't able to control what other people do.
Writing on the Facebook Wall is the main way that people communicate on Facebook and you can post messages to your wall and that of those you are friends with. You can also often post messages on the wall of pages you are a fan of to communicate other messages. You can put all kinds of different content on your wall such as common posts, quotes, pictures, videos and application content. All this can be done quite easily and controlled from your main Facebook page. Another way to communicate with people is through a more direct way than just a status update is called Wall to Wall. This type of communication on Facebook is less direct than a direct message and can be viewed by other people as well but only by those who are normally able to view the walls of both people participating in the Wall to Wall conversation.
You have many options of how you can view content on the Facebook Wall. The one that Facebook currently defaults to is called the News Feed. This shows what your friends on Facebook are doing in real time and is in chronological order. You also have the option of viewing the Wall by the most recent posts and comments. This is sorted by when the post was most recently active and not necessarily when the original post was made. One the left side of the page you can view things like your messages, events, photos and list of friends. These different options allow you to access other features of Facebook and are convenient to find on the Wall. The main bar at the top of the Wall asks you what is on your mind and this is where you are going to make any and all updates to your wall. You can put links in here for other people to view and can also post images and videos through this part of the page.
The best way to learn how the Facebook Wall page works is by just exploring it and seeing what things do. If you are still uncomfortable with what is on the page, then you can ask for help from a friend or family member who can show you the ropes about the Wall on Facebook. Take your time in learning and try to understand everything that is available to you on the Facebook Wall and you will enjoy yourself much more on Facebook.

Does Facebook Addiction Really Exist?
Ask this question a number of Facebook users and most of them will agree that something like this does exist. However, most people that admit that an addiction can exist will play it down. Facebook addiction is nothing serious they will argue. After all, how can something that so many people engage in possibly be harmful or negative?
However, I am here to tell you that not only does "Facebook addiction" really exist, but also that it can be a serious problem having a negative impact on your life. In fact, this phenomenon is becoming so common that American psychologists have now come up with a descriptive term called "Facebook Addiction Disorder" or short FAD.
The sheer unlimited growth of the world's biggest social network recently has brought so many people to the site, that most of us feel that we have to join the site and stay there in order to be up-to-date on what is going on in our friendship circle or otherwise we will miss out on critical information. A kind of peer pressure has taken over that anyone who wants to be "in" has to join the site. And then of course, check there as often as possible to stay ahead with the news.
Our research and work has shown that Facebook addiction can be a serious mental problem that impacts the person affected by it in many negative ways. The most common effects are a big loss in productivity, the inability to concentrate and superficiality of friendships as well as isolation in extreme cases because of the ongoing preference of "online friendship" versus real life friendships.
It is not uncommon for Facebook addicts to log on to the site the first thing in the morning as well as update their personal status or check the site more than 5-6 times a day. Some of our readers have reported spending about 4-5 hours a day on the site. With such statistics it is no longer necessary to discuss the question if such an addiction really exists.
The question rather becomes on how to help such users to deal with their addiction, what can be done to reduce the time they spend there and if it wasn't actually best to quit the site entirely. Not only has the world seen the rise of a new potential online addiction termed "Facebook Addiction Disorder", but we will also have to deal with a rising number of affected people in the future as the scope of the world's biggest social network is only going to increase.
Awareness of such a disorder is the first step we need to bring into our society. More public discussion about the downsides of Facebook (and similar online networks) can only be beneficial to the ones currently being hooked on the network. But the best news is that since there was a life before Facebook, there also is a way to quit the addiction.
Chrisi Brand is the author of the book "How To Quit Facebook - And Do More Meaningful Things Instead". After suffering from a strong Facebook addiction himself for more than 5 months, a lot of trial and error he finally found a way that any person can quit Facebook within a number of days - without going back. You can learn more about this method here: http://www.howtoquitfacebooknow.com.

How You'll Know Your Facebook Has Been Hacked
You can imagine my surprise when I tried to access my Facebook account two days ago and was prompted with a screen saying that my account had been locked out because there had been too many unauthorized attempts to access my account. My Facebook account had been hacked. What can you do when faced with this same tragedy? Luckily, Facebook has several security measures in place to help you restore your account and get back to sending messages to your friends again in no time.
All is not lost if you log-in to your account and get the same screen I got. I was more worried about other accounts I have that use the same user name and same password. The first screen basically states that Facebook needs to verify that you are the correct user for the account. So you have to click a button to proceed to the next screen. The next screen you will see will show you the internet address and the location of where someone was trying to access your account. In my case, I was shown a little pin on a Google map in Auckland, New Zealand. Facebook asked if this would have been me trying to log-in to my account from this location. Well, since I have never been to New Zealand it could not possibly have been me. So, I clicked the button that said something along the lines of this is not me.
Next, I was given the option of how I would like to identify myself as the proper owner of the account. I could either select an option of sending a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail account on file and then return to enter the activation code, or identify a series of pictures of my friends. The first option was pretty much never even an option. If my account had been hacked, how could I know if the person had already reset the e-mail account and the activation code would go to the knuckle head in New Zealand? I chose to try option two and identify pictures of my friends. It should be noted that you will be shown your friends pictures from their accounts and not pictures of them in your account. If you don't think that you can recognize your friends from a photo line up then you need to select the first option of the activation code.
I was led through a series of nine different friends and I was able to identify all of them. Facebook granted me access to my account and I was immediately prompted to change my password. After changing my password, I was given instructions by Facebook to change the password on any other accounts that I may have that use the same username and password. That was the whole process. So be careful and I would suggest changing your password once a month to be safe.

Facebook Can Help You Get Coaching Clients
Facebook is a popular social media site that has many functions and tools within the site. It will take you a while to find your way around this platform so take some time to explore Facebook.
It is important that you pay attention to what you put in your profile. People will go to your profile to find out who you are, what you do, who you help and what you have to offer them so be sure to include that information, a website URL, and a call to action. Do not give too much personal information in your profile.
Facebook
Facebook is a social media site that has many features so we will only cover the ones that aid in business. When you join Facebook you will become friends with people and you will invite them to be friends with you. I suggest that when you ask someone to be your friend that you include a message that tells them who you are and why you would like to be there friend.
Groups
Facebook has many opportunities to join groups that relate to your target coaching niche. There are tons of different groups on Facebook and you can find a group that has almost anything you can think of for a group theme. Join groups that have a purpose that relates to your target coaching niche and invite the group members to become your friend. Don't forget to include a message that lets them know you are in a group together and that is why you want to be their friend.
Once you are a member of the group be sure to contribute to the group by adding comments to discussions and starting discussions. You are there to help others by sharing your knowledge and offering information not just to sell. Be sure to be a resource to others in the group by helping them with issues they talk about in the group. Do not actively sell people on your products. When you are helpful and provide good information people will check you and your site out.
There will be many requests for you to join different groups so be sure to only join groups that are closely related to your target coaching niche and groups that will be filled with potential coaching clients.
Events
Facebook has an events feature that allows you to create an event and invite friends to the event. You will start getting event invitations as soon as you start collecting friends on Facebook. You may want to attend some of the events because you can attend some great teleclasses for free and learn through Facebook events.
You can also create your own events on Facebook and that is where your Facebook friends pay off. You can create an event like a teleseminar to kick off a new product and invite all of your Facebook friends to attend. If your event pertains to a subject matter that your friends are interested in then they will accept your invitation.
I create an event for every product launch and teleseminar or telecours that I have. You can invite your friends to attend a "preview" call for a product launch, a teleclass, or a telecourse. Create an opt-in page and ask the guests to register for the event so that you can send them a replay of the event after it is over.
Your event should offer valuable information that your target coaching niche is interested in. You should have information that they can act on immediately and it is the perfect time to introduce and entice them to take advantage of the product or service you are offering. Essentially they have opted in to your list because they were interested in the subject you are talking about and that means that they will logically have an interest in your products and services.
Facebook is a social media platform so be sure not to abuse it with too much promotion. Be a giver and share your coaching knowledge with your Facebook friends.

The Right Way to Interact With Facebook Friends and Fans
Although people are more or less aware of what proper Netiquette is, the creation and development of Facebook has taken web interaction to a whole new level. With Facebook, new rules have to be set up. Each application should be carefully studied. Whether you use your Facebook account for personal or professional reasons, one should always remember that the internet shapes society. To some, Facebook and other social networks is even the basis of making or breaking relationships- from employees ranting about their bosses online to wives finding out about her husband's affair. Here are a few things to remember when dealing with people online through Facebook, more so if you're using it professionally.
Keep what needs to be Private Private
Redundant as it may sound, this is the primary rule people forget. The interaction and sense of voyeurism Facebook gives is a tempting entity but you should remember these things have a tendency to backfire. Do you really want your clients see you puking on your Friday night gimmicks? Or is that catty comment that was supposed to be an inside joke between friends worth the misinterpretation by others? Remember, the Internet is forever. Personal or professional contacts may stumble on these in the future. If your life is like an open book, imagine the complication of you having to explain to them each and every action you made in the past.
Stop Publishing those Game Updates, Pronto
Unless you're in middle school, getting those cluttered game updates will tend to annoy prospective customers. Remember that you do have the option not to post these updates. To you, it may seem like guilty pleasure. But to others, posting game updates will give you the reputation of being a bit too juvenile. That's a big no-no when you're trying to build up solid credibility online.
Stop Text Posting or Posting when it's not Necessary
'Hd a frikng gud tym at d prty lst nyt' just doesn't sound well online. Some people may forget that all the characters are at your disposal and you have a relatively longer character limit, so make use of them properly. Text posting is a bit too casual for any person's taste. The same goes for drunk posting, posting gibberish or something too vague. In fact, stop posting just for the sake of posting. Although everyone is entitled to their own bit of cyberspace, these things have a tendency to get one other people's nerves in the long run. Annoyance is not the sentiment you want to conjure up in people.
Choose your Contacts Well
You should remember that all news and information posted will appear on their wall. Even their contacts will have the chance to see it. So stop being trigger happy and reserve your friend requests to those who you think are really deserving of it. Direct contacts are ideal. You only have a 5,000 limit for contacts after all. If you're keeping a Facebook page for professional reasons, then do not accept friend requests right away. It would do you good to do a bit of research about the contact. It is unethical to befriend everyone and then de-friend them later on.
